TRUE - Day 14 - Listen

When you lose touch with inner stillness, you lose touch with yourself. When you lose touch with yourself, you lose yourself in the world. Your innermost sense of self, of who you are, is inseparable from stillness. This is the I Am that is deeper than name and form. Eckhart Tolle

Today’s practice invites you to slow it down and be still.

Listen to what is going on inside.

Time on the mat is time well spent because it’s time that you get to practice listening.

If you are here for the hip dips, great.

But today we refocus on why we are truly here.

Day 14 is a self study & mindful mental health practice that is also a delicious and restorative day for the body, particularly your neck, back, and shoulders.

If your mind starts to wander today, think about what it would take to create a healthy flow of energy up and down the spine.

When the energy is able to flow with more ease (think of it like plumbing) it becomes easier to listen to your heart, your guts.

The body knows.

When the body is closed off it becomes very hard to listen to your gut, your true intuition.

Give yourself permission to slow down.

Practice patience and pay attention to what the body and the heart or guts are telling you.

When we go too fast we can miss important signals.

Love your body and be kind with your thoughts.

There are a lot of nuggets out on the mat.

Stay present and enjoy!

Use a blanket today to lift the hips!
Also, there might be some massage at the end of this practice.

YAY.

TRUE is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you are going to get.

See You Tomorrow at the HALFWAY mark!

Yours,
Adriene

PS: Trust that the answers are inside. This is a good practice to bookmark to return to when you don’t know what to do. Often the advice that you are seeking is inside you. xoxo

  2. Thank you, Adriene! Winter weather has finally arrived in Colorado, and today's practice was the perfect start to a stay-inside and slow-it-down kind of day.

  3. Hi Adriene, thank you for another 30 day Journey of Yoga ‍♀️ It seems that I have a Problem recieving the daily Emails although I have subscribed for them. I have to find the Videos in YouTube every day and I miss your heartwarming messages before the practice ☹️

  4. Just what I needed today... didn't think I would make it at all as sooo tired.. so a really great relaxing session... perfect. Thanks Adriene x

  5. My elderly dog took the extra blanket today as an invitation to do yoga with me. I "listened" to her request to join me, and it was amazing. I realized today that our relationship has been rather strained lately as she frequently wakes me up at night to take her out. I try not to blame her for it because I know it's not her fault, but I guess I have been feeling a little resentful. It was good to start off the day doing something so positive together today. Thank you from both of us!

  6. This practice was perfect! And I find myself saying that every day of this journey. Today I realized that it is not the individual practices that are perfect, but the journey itself is what I have fallen in love with! Thank you, Adriene, for putting so much heart into TRUE.

  7. Without realising it, this is precisely what I needed. I believe myself to be present and to be open through my heart, guts and body. When more often than not, I am closed off and subconsciously trying to keep it that way. I've had hard time, after hard time fall upon my chest and shoulders recently, and I hadn't noticed just how small I was becoming under the crushing weight of these circumstances. This practice helped me to reflect, it helped me to allow my energy to burst forth from my emotional dam and to truly flow with renewed vigour. This practice is truly bringing me back into myself, and allowing me to be TRUE to me, once more. Namaste.

  8. That was exactly what I needed today and I genuinely truly mean that.
Thank you so much Adriene! My body, mind and soul are grateful.

  9. This practice was perfect for todayToday is my last day at work before starting a new position on Tuesday. It was great to listen, stretch and breathe through all of the big feelings I have. Thanks Adriene!

  10. It was a perfect practice, Adriene. The hip massage WAS yummy. Sunday today, so I could lay on the mat some more and enjoy the stillness.

  11. I found you in March when the world shut down due to Covid. I was faithfully going to the gym for 6am Yoga since October and was very sad that my routine stopped. It took me a few weeks to find you and I have been doing a yoga session every morning at 5:30am at home with my dog DAISY. It is my favourite time of the day before the house wakes up and usually in my PJ’s. I’m almost done True 30 day challenge. And I don’t see anymore 30 day challenges. I want to keep going. Did you produce a Covid at home series by chance? Thank you for sharing yourself and Benji with us. I love how TRUE you are! You put a smile on my face every morning with the quirky things you say. Keep it going. I will be here practising in Calgary, AB Canada. Namaste

  12. Best part was the “I’m going to be quiet now”. But then goes on talking for about a minute. Lol.

I like Adrien’s practices. But too much singing or going off track. Yeah it’s ok once in a while and not taking one too seriously is important. But focusing is part of yoga and meditation. Meditation is all about focus. And she doesn’t.

But I will continue to do her practices because all-in-all they are good.

  13. Thank you so much for existing Adrienyou are just amasing in your way of brigning everything togetherNamaste ….may our paths meet somewhere in the Universe
