I have heard it all! From cancer to high cholesterol and from weight loss to glowing skin this natural tonic has received a lot of well rounded praise. I thought I would share with you some of the many benefits of Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) and kick my Saturday night off right with a little experiment. If you are feeling goofing you can do a shot like me – or I recommend diluting it in a little water or juice.
Benefits and Uses of Apple Cider Vinegar:
Weight Loss. A dose of ACV can curb cravings and help reduce your appetite. I love to eat but do find when I drink ACV I am able to eat more mindfully and thoughtfully.
Natural antibiotic Properties. If you have a tummy ache or are suffering from diarrhea (I still cannot spell the word diarrhea on the first try.) a little diluted ACV in water could aide in bad bacteria in the tummy.
For a Happy Hour- drink before you dine! That is, drink a little ACV before you eat to prevent indigestion or an upset tummy. This can be great if you are eating out and know that your tummy might be in line for some rock and roll.
Energy elixir and hangover cure! A shot of ACV or a shot in a cool glass of water, or veggie or fruit juice is a great boost before a workout or after! ACV contains enzymes that can bring you a lift! It is also a great aide to a hangover (not that I would know) as it can help relieve the build up of lactic acid in the body.
Aid in allergy and colds. Some say that ACV can help with sinus drainage and even assist in a sore throat. I personally have never found the ACV to aide in a sore throat but find it is good on the onset. So when you feel that tickle in your throat sip a little (or gargle) ACV and warm water to kill those germs and prevent illness.
Some folks also say that a spoonful of ACV can cure the hiccups. Hmmm…
Smile! Gargle some ACV to remove stains from your teeth. A quick swish after your morning tea or coffee should do the trick! (Also a great bacteria killer for gums and mouth.)
Blood Sugar levels. ACV can assist in controlling high blood sugar levels so it is often used as a natural way to aide and treat those suffering from Diabetes.
Word to the wise! Do not shoot it like I do in this video all the time. Like lemons, the acidity of the ACV can begin to wear down on your dental enamel making your teeth sensitive and yellow. (No!) Dilute or add a pinch of baking soda to reduce some of the acidity. As always, be mindful and practice moderation.
You can purchase Apple Cider Vinegar at most stores. Look for Organic and look for “The Mother”
