Yoga for Suffering

Yoga for Suffering is a gentle 20 minute yoga flow. Take a moment to surrender. No need to come with an agenda or worry about a specific outcome.

Set down your burdens and let yoga take care of you. Welcome in a mindful moment and remember, you are not alone.

  1. Hi dear Adriene!
I love so much to read your Sunday words! Usually it’s the first thing I do when I wake up... it’s so inspirational!!
I also love your videos! Me and my daughter Maria, 15, we are truly fans of your yoga classes on YouTube.
Besides the practice, the thing that I like the most is your joyful way and your energy!
    Thank you so much!

Love from across the ocean... from Portugal!

    Namaste

    Thank You
    Your friend Luke

  3. Thank you for this. I lost my mother unexpectedly 10 days ago and needed this. Trying each day to adjust to life without her and somehow reconcile her untimely passing.

  4. All things happen for a reason..... this practice comes to me at a time when I am suffering. I am the caregiver to my husband who has brain cancer. It is a hard road. Your videos and and on the road practice with you in Santa Fe are a great strength for me.

    Thank you

    1. Kellie, it is a very hard journey. My mother and I went through the same path with my dad who had a glioblastoma 4 years ago now. I hope you have love and the comfort of friends and family to help you on the road. Take care of yourself.

  5. Thank you for this beautiful practice! I needed it coming off of vacation, struggling with mindset a bit....thank you so much 🙂

  6. The post about suffering today moved me to tears.

I have been through a journey of intense suffering and finally realised a healing so profound, that I am currently expereincing incredible vitality and deep appreciation. I feel so good that it feels really guided (and a little unconfortable) to reach out to help and teach others.

Over the last few days I have been posting on facebook and starting to publically open up about what I went through and I have had feedback that has already helped people. To me law of attraction practices have lost the plot when they put people in denial of theor own suffering or the misery they see in the world. Having said that, the most powerful thing I can do is help from a place of sensitive intenttional vitality and bliss Thank you for you post

  7. Dear Adriene, how could you possibly know that my grandma passed away in our home 2 days ago? That we watched her suffer for hours, plead with us for help as she struggled to breathe, until she could do it no more. How did you know that this would be exactly what I needed today, to get me back to the mat, away from the pain, the unbearable images, and back into my body? I opened your email this morning, sobbed and smiled, while thanking you and my grandma for delivering this gift today. xx

    1. Jenna, my grandfather died similarly this week. This video has helped me enormously, as I practice it over and over. Love to you and your family.

  8. This reminded me of this week's Buckit (List) podcast with my riding buddies Phil Keoghan and David Adler, and David's wife, Carol. David had a horrific bike accident six years ago. David and Carol share their journey to hell and back. It's painful, touching, and makes you appreciate all that you do have, as they do, every day. They were brave to tell the story and I try to be as brave in watching and living with their spirit in my heart.

And I'm also reminded of Phil's NOW, No Opportunity Wasted. If you're given the opportunity to live or experience anything, don't waste it. Embrace it for all the fear, pain, anxiety, beauty, and prana that it brings. Live boldly!

  9. I love what you wrote on your blog about suffering. It can be difficult to look at the suffering of others or even ourselves. But, healing will come when we address our issues.
Nothing will change, unless we address our issues.
Then more beauty is birthed through the healing!

  10. Thank you, thank you and thank you Adriene ! I love your 30 Days YouTube videos, I just started 20 days ago and love them and I love your personality !!! I feel like we are friends practiceing yoga together.
Practicing yoga with you has help me communicate how I feel and sometimes it’s helped me hold my tongue. You Are the Best teacher!

  11. Hi! I came to your site specifically looking for a yoga video for grief. I lost my dog (my soulmate, companion, best friend) three weeks ago, and the sadness is heart wrenching. I’m shocked that the first video you had on your page was Yoga for Suffering. Thank you - it was exactly what I needed. Somehow just seeing the video was up and ready for me let’s me know that all will be ok one day.

  12. Thank you for this practice. I have been suffering with shingles for about six weeks and this is my first venture back into the healing power of yoga. Perfect start!
    Namaste.
