Today, I invite you to take stress energy and root it back down in your foundation.

Trust the foundation and know that each time we come to the mat we are adding to and working with that foundation.

Foundation is important because it allows you to feel where you are coming from and where you are going without having to worry about either one.

Ground, be present, and recharge your batteries.

Having a sense of your foundation takes you making time for yourself. Time to dial in and check stress energy at the door.

It is your practice to give credit where credit is due maybe it was just a simple mistake. This is a great way to start women’s month and I love this poem by Maya Angelou.

  8. Adriene, I've been following your daily practice since 1st January and I wanted to tell you how much I'm enjoying your videos and my daily yoga sessions.

    I have ME and am housebound at least 5 days a week. I have problems with concentration, mobility, balance, chronic pain, and in the 10 years I've been ill I have gained 6 stone (84 lbs) in weight.

    Before I was ill I worked in university administration and when I was younger I was a gymnast training for 24hours a week.

    I have dabbled with yoga before I got ill with ME, taking the odd class at my gym for fun alongside my regular workouts. But I have never enjoyed it or felt so much better after a session as I have with your videos.

    The pain and inflammation in my spine is much more bearable, my balance is getting better, and my exhaustion hasn't really been affected too much (the positives outweigh the negatives!!).

    I started with your TRUE practice in January as a monthly challenge, but I soon realised that I was dreading the month ending. I was overjoyed to discover that you're continuing to offer free monthly calendars of prescribed practice 🙂 And although I had to take a week off in February because of a throat and chest infection, I'm sure that I recovered quicker because of your practices.

    So, I just wanted to thank you for all that you do for people like me, who cannot afford classes, but are benefitting daily from your efforts.

  22. Hello Adriene and thank you so much for this practice... and all the others since the beginning of this transformative yoga year! Yoga has been such an anchor habit in my life and has transformed how I see life and my projects, and thank you so much for that.
    I have an important question for Sarah Bowman: I live in Europe (more particularly in Paris, France) and I have been downloading your calendars religiously in order to keep up with my daily practice. I am using it as a regular calendar as well to keep tabs on my creative projects, since yoga is about being open and creative, right? I just have one slight problem: my calendar has the week starting on monday, not on sundays. Theredore, I am getting very confused by the shape of the calendar as it is. Of course, I get it, but sometimes i am just looking at the calendar at a glance and getting a whiff of panic when I think I missed a day! Would it be possible to have a calendar that starts on monday, please please please with a cherry on top? It would be so great! Thank you so much in advance and keep up the Good Work!

  23. Adriene. I have been doing yoga with you off and on for at least 2 years - maybe 3 - since my boss/friend (lucky me!) told me about your January challenge a few years ago. Last Otober or so, I decided to get to the mat every day and have only missed a few days since then. I did TRUE this year and just loved surrendering myself to you and whatever yoga practice you were dishing up that day. They are always delicious! I am so thankful for your library of free videos. I return to them over and over again. I have tried other on-line videos just to compare. I find that yours are the most clear and spoken in a voice that is soothing. Your generous, loving, quirky personality shines through; I feel as though I know you! My niece lives in Austin and next time I visit I'd really like to attend a live class with you if that is possible. Thank you into infinity for your good work. And a thank you to the many others who I also provide the support to make these videos possible. I will not have access to a computer for the next several months, but when I return, I will become a member. Thank you and thank you again and again. Namaste.

Hi, question about the poses where you have one foot forward with knee over and the other foot top on the mat: this hurts the knee that's on the mat, it's kinda like kneecap gets shifted in a way that's not right. If I keep my back toes curled it's ok. Would you recommend a modification for that pose? Thanks!

    I've been a member for a long time....and try to practice regularly.....my heels STILL will not touch the mat in down dog!! Ugh, but I will keep at it. I just want to thank you for helping me and so many other like the practice, your attitude keeps us going. Thanks so much!!

  29. I noticed your Grand Teton sweatshirt today. I moved from there to VT about 18 months ago. I am still in mourning but spend a lot of time focusing on the positives of being back in the east. Today's practice really helped me release some of the deep sadness I have over the loss of the life I left back in the Tetons. I've been holding that stress in my right hip and today's practice left me sobbing as I entered the last child's pose. Thank you for helping me find the space to release some of that stress and take notice of that I do not allow myself to feel on a daily basis. I will probably repeat this practice in an effort to heal.

  32. Writing from the uk. In lockdown due to covid. I’ve done your videos for years Adriene, but lately I’ve felt like I’ve needed them more than ever. My yoga time after I’ve put the babies to bed is my time. My exercise, and my relaxation.
    I’ve really been feeling the weight of our life style restrictions due to covid lately, and been feeling numb to life.
    You’ve kept me focused and helped me hit the reset button at the end of each day. Your videos help more then you’ll ever know. Keep doing what you’re doing Adriene! XxX
