REVOLUTION: Day 6

Your Day 6 practice asks you to befriend your body. Our modern cultures have trained our minds to think of the body in a very distorted way. The language we use to shape the way we think about the body needs to be tended to. So it with a great irony and fun humor that I include ABS into Day 6 routine. It’s okay to want that strong pack. (Pass me a cold one?) But Pay attention! Pay attention to what actually feels good and move from there. We are no doubt getting stronger. Ripped. But it’s only a by product of the deep relationship we are cultivating with ourselves. Hot prana bodies unite!

Surprise yourself.

Namaste.

PS: I changed the title of this puppy to Attention instead of Awareness so that you could consider what it actually is that you are prioritizing when you take time for yourself. What are you paying attention to first? Your flat tummy? Or the smiling of your amazing, unique, brilliant and fierce soul?

  1. Dear Adriene, thank you for these 31 days of yoga! I love it and do them every day! I'd like to subscribe to this revolution so I get the email every day but I can't find the link. Could you help me? Love Anne

    1. The content of the emails and the text below the videos are pretty much the same. So no need to worry 🙂

  2. Hi Adriene,
thank you so much for this beautiful practice, this is really what I needed today!
It fills me with instant joy to start off the day. You introduced me to Yoga in such a natural, human and connected way - even though it is virtual and digital. Keep up your unique work and big thank you from Berlin, Germany!
    Monika

    1. Hi Monika,

I was thinking of coming to Berlin from Montreal because there is a great flight deal 🙂
would love to meet up with yogis around the world, would you mind connecting on facebook?

  3. Only a few days ago I had to drag myself to the mat, now I am rather bothered that I'll have to push my yoga practice back because I can't possibly fit in that and cleaning myself up after before my dentist's appointment, what a change!

Question to the others (or Adriene, if you're readung this)

Can one still get at the 30 days of yoga e-mails?

Because since I'm enjoying this challenge, especially with the daily e-mails, I thought I'd bookmark the start of that one for the future, but when I try to follow the links both from google and in the original videos, I get redirected straight to yoga camp, and since that seems to be the "sequel" building on the 30 days, that's a bit frustrating.

    1. Yay, Svenja! Look at you! Great to hear your eagerness to get to the mat. I don't know about the 30 days emails, sorry :0( I have the Yoga camp ones if you want those, but sounds like they're still available? Let me know if you want me to forward them, if all at YWA are ok with that Good luck at the dentist :0).

      1. Hi Joy, as far as I've been able to tell the yoga camp e-mails are easy enough to get, just not the precursor. *sad*
Dentist went alright, but apparently I had some bug in my system that was all too happy to take over my body as soon as I stepped out into the icy weather, so I'll have to go for "Yoga when you're sick" tomorrow instead. =( Don't wanna fall behind, because of the community aspect, but I think if I try to stick to yoga revolution videos while sick, I'll fall over dead.

      2. Hi - In revolution Day 6, Adriene says 'read the email' but for some reason, I never received the day 6 email?!? I got the day 5 and day 7... Weird! Anyhow, could someone please copy and paste and send the content of the email to me... I don't want to miss a thing!
        Many many thanks
        A

    2. Hi! I started the 30 days of Yoga back in December, so I am finishing them now while still doing Yoga Revolution! You just have to sign up, and I think you can get them anytime! Videos are on a YouTube playlist!

  4. Hello Adrienne. I have just read your email for day 6.....and I am in tears......because you are so right.....and I am so ready, so excited and so grateful. Thank you for being you.

    1. I really enjoyed those as well. For some reason they tickled my sides like crazy! I was giggiling and laughing the whole time, probably an even better work out for the abs 😉

  5. Loved starting the first five days of the year with you (and me!). Today I started working again, and I had to leave before this one got online.. 🙁 I'm in the Netherlands, I get the email around 8.30. Really want to stick to the practice and love doing them in the morning. Is it in any way possible to get the video up two hours earlier?

    1. Would be great if that is possoble, I am in Norway and it would be great to occasionally do yoga in the early morning!

    2. Yes, I'd really appreciate that, too! I'm in Poland and I also usually get on the mat right after I get up. This would mean a lot, thanks!

    3. I am in Australia and get the emails around lunch time. I am simply doing the yoga a day later, so that I can do it first thing in the morning.

    4. I had the same problem (also in NL), but decided to do one other online class of Adriene one morning (outside of the 31 day practice), leaving me one day behind. Now I can do last days class each morning. This works fine and feels good.

  6. The awesome in me bows to the awesome in every one of you too!
    Thanks again Adriene
    Xxxx

  7. Oh you glorious people thank you!! I just did day 6, all of it, every bit!! (Well, except a middle planky bit which I couldn't hold for a nano second). Thank you to everyone who listened and responded to my sadness yesterday - it's like a mini class, as in, it feels way less lonely. Maybe I am being naive diving in here, having never done anything remotely yoga previously...but it feels like a schedule, a plan, well it's a good start, for me.
I'll be here, in frosty England stretching and breathing and learning, right to the very end.
    So many thanks xxxx

    1. Hi Meg,

glad it went well for you today! Wish me luck that it does for me too, waiting for the soreness in my mouth from the dentist to subside a bit before I get myself on the mat.

      1. Meg and Svenja,

Sweet we're workout buddies!! I just got done crying when Adriene said the awesome in me bows to the awesome in you!! So neat to be able to open up like this. I'm in Illinois, USA.

        1. Hey Marc and Meg,

Looks like I won't get to join you tomorrow, but instead go for "yoga for when you're sick" - at least if the way my face and throat feel are any indication. I'll have to push yoga revolution to after that.
I'm sad to be falling behind, because this community aspect is kind of awesome and if I'm not going at the same pace you are, keeping it up will be difficult.
I'll do my best to be around and throw encouragement your way tho.

          1. I'm glad I'm not the only one who felt a little bit teary at the end there Marc! I've been watching these videos on YouTube up until today, but after seeing this little lovely yoga community I think I'll be coming here from now on 🙂 Sorry to hear you're not feeling the best Svenja; if it helps, being in Australia I'm one day behind too, so will be here commenting after everyone else has moved on haha. Hope you feel better soon 🙂

      2. Hi Svenja

Be mindful of the soreness in your mouth when you're doing the 'thread the needle' pose just after the 16-minute mark, as having your head on the mat could put pressure on your teeth : ) As I was wearing headphones during the class, I had to lift my head off the mat slightly in that pose, which could maybe be an option for you too (the lifting of the head, not so much the headphones, lol!). OR, maybe your mouth is totally fine by now, in which case ignore me : )

    2. Greetings to you Meg from another part of frosty England! It's great to be doing this in real time and getting the "live" class element, isn't it? We are not alone! I don't think you're naive diving in with this one - if it works, it works (If it doesn't, gotta let it go) (good song I know) :0) Keep on being kind to yourself and making all the adjustments you need if you're just starting out - I am reminding myself of this too, as I crashed into the mat doing (not doing) those eagle legs! Good to have another Brit here this morning. Namaste all! :0)

      1. Another Brit! Yay we did it!! Day 6 & it was such much kinder than I was expecting, but I really shouldn't have expected anything less from Adriene. I'm loving this. See you tomorrow x

    3. Good for you! Sometimes it helps to go to a few live classes so you can learn accommodations that you can make when a pose hurts or is too much. No pain in yoga! There are several poses I have to accommodate, even after 5 years of practice. I started when I turned 50, after a lifetime of hating exercise. You can do it too!

    4. Meg,

I also find that having a schedule planned out helps a lot. Back in November, there was a schedule put together with a lot of the foundation videos. That helped me do yoga everyday and filled in some needed education about the poses and variations on them. You might be interested in trying that out once Revolution is over. Here is a link to learn about it: https://www.sarahbethbowman.com/fwfg-yoga-calendars/november-2016-fwfg-yoga-calendar

I worked my way through the last couple years of 30 days, but I always got behind and finished sometime in February. This year, I hope to finish on time!

    5. I LOVE being a part of this group. I read comments yesterday and today and thought I would chime in! I am in Georgia, USA and am really enjoying these videos. I am feeling so good after just 6 days! Wow!

    6. Meg! I'm dong this a couple of days so I was late in reading your day five comments but was thinking of you all night! (I hope that's not weird). So glad to see you made it back for day 6. Well done!

  8. Namaste awesome Adriene,

I have one question regarding the eagle crunches today. Should both shoulders remain in contact with the floor when lowering the legs to a side? I cannot seem to manage...

Thanks for all the lovely sessions so far, I feel so much better in my body already! I'm trilled about the remaining 25 days xxx

  9. Thank you, awesome Adriene! I have no idea what my legs were doing in eagle today and care not, I feel brilliant showing up for day 6-in-a-row. What an inspiration you are, no way would I do this alone :0). Continued gratitude to you XX

  10. Hello, I signed up for emails and only got one thus far (for Day 4)... Should I sign up once more or..?

    1. Are you sure it's not showing up in a spam or junk mail folder? Only one of mine showed up in my regular inbox and it may have been day 4. 🙂

    2. Mine originally ended up in Junk - which made me scream at the computer "THESE ARE NOT JUNK!" Hopefully you will find them - they totally set the tone for my day and my practice.

    3. My emails also haven't show up in a couple of days -- stopped after day five for me. Would love a solution or another way to read them.

  11. What keeps me come back every day is that I can already feel the strengthening and restorative effects on my body since Day 4. Thank you! So excited to be doing this.

  12. Loving it!
I find Im unable to do maybe 75% of the work...no strenth, no flexibility, joints and various other things mean I have to adapt everything but Im kinda okay with that...Im hoping that by continuing with the amazing Adriene online that by summer Ill be able to join a class in town too.
    Persistance will win

    1. Hi Vicky, just stick with it. It gets easier with time but mostly it's good for you either way. 🙂 You're awesome for showing up!

    2. Persistence WILL win! Every day is a little better than the day before. Speaking from experience 🙂

      1. Thanks for your support Natalie...good to know youve been through it and know it'll happen. x

  13. I did Day 6 with my headphones on as my partner's watching TV nearby, and I could hear Adriene's heartbeat in some poses 😀 It was very comforting. My headphones did get in the way of 'thread the needle' though ; )

Not sure if I was doing something wrong, but I couldn't really feel anything in my obliques during the eagle crunches. Any tips?

  14. Loving it! Day 6 - giving myself and all of you high fives!!

My lower ribs are letting me know they are there, I like to think they are happy to be going home (their rightful place!).

This is my first Adriene experience- such awesomeness!! Love the jokes and the tangents, your personality is so jive-y with me.

  15. The topics you pick to focus really resonate and I do my best to carry them through the day to keep stress away and happiness in my heart. Thank you for all you do.

  16. To me it's paying attention to keep on curling my lips up while working on my core strenghts. Both physically as wel as mentally. Paying attention to that inner smile to make the practice smooth and keep it fun

  17. To me it's paying attention to keep on curling my lips up while working on my core strenghts. Both physically as wel as mentally. Paying attention to that inner smile to make the practice smooth and keep it fun!
PS: what a great idea to keep the hands in 'seal'

  18. Hi Adriene!
I'm so excited for this challenge, I did last years challenge with you as well. I'm a 61 yr. old yogi instructor & have been teaching 5 years & practicing for 12. I'm so happy you are encouraging women & men to pay "attention" how they move & why. Just love your body, soul, & spirit and watch just how strong you'll become on and off the mat. Just a fun fact for any of you middle aged girls out there, I actually gained a 1/4 inch in height just from practicing yoga regularly (at least 5 times a week). Two of my doctors actually had to change my height in my records. They both attributed the extra height to my yoga practice!! How many almost 62 year old women are getting taller??? Many blessings to all of you & keep up the yoga practice!!!

    1. Hi Susan

I'm 64 and have also been doing yoga for about 12 years. Though no way am I good enough to become a yoga teacher. I go to a class once a week and have been following Adrienne for a year now. I try to do every day although some days are more of a challenge to fit it in. And I really miss it when we are travelling and I can't get the internet. At only 5'3" I was glad to hear about the growing. I can believe it, keep that spine stretched!

    2. I do dexascans for osteoporosis and I can always tell when a women does yoga...large, healthy spaces between their lumbar vertebrae instead of compression vertebrae that come with age. No...you are not suppose to shrink when you get older like many people think!!!

    3. That is so awesome Susan and completely inspiring! When I first started doing yoga regularly I noticed I needed to readjust my rear view mirror after class ha ha

  19. I like to think I have reasonably strong abs and core, but today challenged that notion, in the warmest and loveliest way possible! I've been waking up every day looking forward to the next email and video.. thank you so much for doing this for us all, Adriene 🙂

P.S to everyone else out there, thank you as well, I like thinking of us all doing our best at this revolution and getting energy from each other. It's very cool!

  20. I have been a fan for several years now and love what you do and how you do it.

I currently exercise every day but have only done yoga 1x a week during that time. So, doing it daily is a new experience for me.

My question is, do you incorporate cardio into your weekly regime. If so, what do you do and for how long each day, how many days a week etc. I know you have mentioned running in the past.

    Thank you, Marie

  21. Day 6. Wrists are killing. Shoulders are screaming. I am so happy to be here. Thank you Adriene.

  22. Wow! Today was such a workout. I agree with Gretchen - my wrists were killing me, too! I am happy to see other "over 60s" doing this yoga practice! I am challenging myself like never before and loving every minute of it. I am not new to yoga by any means but doing it daily is amazing and I am sure that once I get thru this challenge I will be searching YouTube for more yoga with Adriene in order to continue a daily practice and not just twice a week as I have been doing for many years.

  23. Wowza. Day 6 was tough! I actually really appreciated Adriene's comment about how just sitting up straight can be challenging, because I always notice it, and it made me feel not so terrible when she acknowledged it. That's my favorite thing about listening to her - whenever I might start feeling like I'm not as accomplished with my practice as I *should* be, she says something that reminds me it's ok to be where I am. Love it! Love her!

  24. I think I've dropped the imaginary block couple of times : ))))
even though it seems to be tougher than other YWA month cicles it is absolutely necessery for your heart, body and soul <3

    1. I cry every day, to greater or lesser extent..I think for me the tears are part of the releasing? Let them flow and keep going xx

  25. Holy ahhhbs! I loved and enjoyed the tone you set for day 6; befriending the body. Thank you Adrienne!

  26. Completed Day 5 and ALREADY feel stronger!!! Thank you, Adriene, for what you do for us.

  27. I guess I just got high on too many oxigen from breathing during that last exercise 😀
This revolution practise is super awesome day after day!
    Thank you, Adriene <3

  28. <3 Loved this day of attention! Thank you for reminding us that self-love is needed, not selfish and helping us bring more love into this world!

  29. Well, I've definitely had better days, and doing it in the evening really doesn't seem to work for me but after the dentist I really needed to wait and then life happened *sigh*
But well, I survived, and I am feeling the burn in my abs.

  30. Day Six and going strong in Delhi, India. Your emails mean so much 🙂
    Loving the practice!

  31. Adriene, thank you for helping me start out my last six mornings with a strong body, extra love in my heart and a smile on my face! I am loving this journey with you!

  32. Hi Adriene, I love these yoga practises! I have a question, though. I feel lightheaded during and for a while after the practise. Is this normal or should I be worried?

  33. Great Day 6! I'm loving this journey!

Question about today's practice: During the Eagle Crunches, about half way through, I started expierencing a pulling cramp feeling in my back across my ribs (on the side we were leaning to). Am I potentially doing something wrong? Or is this just a boundary my body has given me to work through?

Thank you Adriene and the YWA Community!

  34. Hello my friends! I have just by accident thrown my mobilephone with all my cards in the container for old newspapers and stuf ( don´t knew what its called in english ) so I´m a bit worried right now 🙁 Perhaps and hopefully I feel better after yoga...

  35. Thank you for your teachings, your humor, your guidance, and these practices. I am filled with gratitude for you!

  36. Absolutely beautiful Adriene! you couldn't be more correct,I loved the Email and loved the practice I felt fully connected today, Thankyou again, Namaste 🙂

  37. Thanks so much for all you do, Adrienne! Majorly enjoying this year's challenge of Yoga Revolution, woo! For some reason, today I started cracking up during practice. Like a deep witch's cackle! Despite circumstances being quite stressful, Everything in life suddenly seemed hilarious! Just wanted to reach out and say THANKS for the light- (and deep) hearted inspiration! And to the whole community--THANK YOU TOO! Pretty darn beautiful all of us humans working hard to grow and give our best to ourselves and others! Yay! ~ATX <3

  38. I'm seriously in love with this!
I try my hand (or feat or whatever else) on Yoga for years now and because I'm a little overweight (ok, a lot) and I'm really not the athletic one I had problems with nearly every pose.
But I still tried them and I got frustrated and everything was a real struggle.

Over the last six days something changed. I tried the pose and I struggle with them like always and then today I read the email and thought "ABS? Did she wrote ABS like the thinks other people have near their Abdomen?"
My next thought was "Ok. That lesson won't be an easy one. I can proud of myself if I try it at all."
    And I tried it.
And for the first time in years I succeded the groundfacing dog! For the first time I could put my feet on the ground not just only the toes but the whole feet. It felt amazing!!!

    That's your work, Adrienne!
(okay, I did it but I couldn't have done it without this lessons)

    THANK YOU!!!

  39. I am grateful for all that the yoga gives me, the feeling, the Love, the spirit! I'm grateful that i Did find you and the Challenge
I live in Sweden and i Practise yout yoga revolution in My bedroom.
Sometimes its hard to wait for à new video, the timedistance is pretty big... I want to do the yoga in the morning but i've learnd to wait! I dont just learn same new yoga, i learn allot!
    Thank you Adriene, namaste!

  40. Hi everyone
I did the 30 days last year, and loved it! Now I am in the 31 days. Such a great practice from you, Adriene. Thank you for making this available. One question about the downloadable version; how do I get future videos on Gumroad? I have up to day 7.

  41. This is awesome!!! Can't wait for day 7! Adriene... thank you! You are inspiring and I sure love your sense of humor! You have my older daughters (12 and 11) cracking up, too! I'm hoping they join me on the mat soon!

  42. Dear Adriene

I will definitely saved day 6 in Bookmarks for the future. Wow!!!

Loving every second of this journey. Totally amazing.

From my beautiful soul to your beautiful soul, I thank you!!!

    Namaste

  43. Adriene I love you!! You're the best 🙂 Just getting rid of some bad habits and this revolution is the thing that really keeps me going. Thank you so much <3 Plus the mail for day 6 was exactly what I needed to read! Lots of love from the other side of the globe.

  44. Enjoying my practice from the very hot and humid Darwin, Australia. I will post some progress shots on my Instagram, hash tagging in our yogi community of course! Namaste lovelies xx

  45. I look forward to seeing my email from Adriene in my inbox each day.

Loved the poem in the email today!

Approached todays practice with trepidation as I have NO abdominal muscles (I must have some but I think they are sleeping) but adapted the moves and got to the end...Yes

  46. I had a crazy day today. Work and then to the doctor and then to the DMV. When I left this morning my husband said, I will see you this afternoon for tea. ( an afternoon ritual in our house), and then before I could say anything he said...

    But Yoga first!

    Namaste hubby

  47. I don't believe I have ever come to the mat 6 days in a row, or done any activity consistently for 6 days. i look forward to it each day, even after an exhausting day at work. I also feel the awareness off the mat, and I believe it is changing the way I conduct myself. I find myself telling my third grade students, "No worries, you've got this." "I've got you, we can do this." Thanks you Adriene!

  48. Can we just talk about your amazing email for a second? I had to pick my jaw up off the floor! Eloquent, profound and funny. You have many gifts, my dear, and I sincerely hope to read your book someday.
"Whatever is keeping you from moving forward with joy is a pattern."
    This sentence hit me hard.
I began punishing my body at a very young age (thanks, competitive gymnastics) and spent the majority of my adolescent years in hospitals and treatment centers due to a gnarly eating disorder. My weight has been stable for years now, but my mind still wanders through those desolate landscapes of criticism and contempt. I heavily modified today's practice, noticing when my body had enough and honoring what felt good for me. Before, modification meant failure, but today I embraced humility and grace and decided to be my body's friend. I accomplished more than I have during any other yoga practice. I am honored to be your student. Namaste!

  49. Thank you thank you thank you!!!

I will be out of phone service next week. I am trying to download via the Gumroad app but coming up short!
    Can anyone help please?

  50. Day six done. I was sick yesterday and still feeling low energy today but yogarevolution workouts are gentle enough that I can do them even when I'm fluey achey gross. Also I've been worse. I thought today's was a bit more challenging but stopped and took deep breaths when needed. Motion is lotion even and esp when I'm sickley. I'm watching my back!

That said, there is nothing wrong with taking a break when the body is saying it needs a break. Kudos to those who are fighting the bad bug but not letting it beat you down to leaving this community. Yoga is about checking in, hanging in there and showing up for yourself and if that means lots of sleep, several episodes of Gilmore Girls and hot tea all day then so be it.

    Thank you Adriene!

  51. From Guadalajara, México, Thank you Adriene, It's a real challenge but my sister and I are loving it, every day feeling more powerfull inside and strong in every way. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Love you!!

  52. I felt so good on the mat today! Just 3 days ago all i could think about was the pain in my wrists, now, I'm so focused on my breathing this practice felt like it flew by. Thank you, Adriene!

  53. I woke up in a faul mood with no energy whatsoever - but thankfully I convinced myself to get on the mat first thing! I did not have nearly as much energy as I've had the previous 5 days, but I tried to honor where I was at and pay attention as good as I could. I still don't feel quite my usual self, but my mood has definitely improved and my previous thought of wanting to stay in bed all day and hide from the world has lifted and I'm ready to embrace whatever the day may bring!

Love to you all for showing up and for this supporting community!
And most of all: THANK you Adriene for giving us all this amazing revolution xx

    Louise
    (A Dane in Australia)

  54. Wow, loved your email (the part about patterns hit me too!) The practice was so wonderful, a great mix of ease and work, and I found myself able to listen to my body (which was saying "Hey that time of month is starting... so maybe easy with some of that?") with out feeling guilty or like I was "cheating". Thank you for your positivity, teaching, and joy!

  55. Wow! That definitely started a fire. I cannot believe how much I enjoyed doing hard arms and abs work! Thank you so much for helping to steer the focus onto the good stuff 🙂 Really enjoying these 31 days 🙂

  56. Thank you, Adriene! This is wonderful! I found myself in the middle wondering if I can really do 25 more days of this... but I'll take it one day at a time, as I have been, and I think it will be great.

  57. Today was a challenge! I hope to return to this video at the end of these 31 days and be able to really rock those side planks! I also noticed (thru my awareness!) how different the eagle pose on the floor felt on my right vs left side. Not sure why but just being aware helped me adjust accordingly till I found what felt good. Thanks Adriene!

  58. That was saucy!! We are kicking it up a notch on this revolution journey 🙂 Fire in my belly and arm muscles!

  59. I'm actually seeing improvement in my back already. I'm sitting up easier and actually did a small bridge pose instead of trying and cussing. Stupid disc problems might be a distant memory if I keep this up!

  60. I've just been reading the comments and everyone is so positive and supportive of one another. I love how we are all doing this together, experiencing the joy and love. And it's all due to Adriene.
Thank you Adriene. Do you know how much we love you?

    1. Susan, I am pretty sure she knows:)
I too am so enormously thankful for
I have practised daily, but for these past three days I've had such a cold and still had to work (the life of a freelancer) that I haven't been able to do the whole sequences in a row. Instead I've been doing them in two halves. Not ideal, but still I feel that's better than not doing anything, of course.
I don't quite understand the requests for posting videos earlier, in order to be able to do them in "real" time. I find you can still be very much part of and present in this community doing them a little, or a lot, after.
I am currently one day behind, I just did this amazing day 6. I am feeling loved, loving and lovely !!
And will do my best to spread that love also off the mat. <3 and Namaste to you all.

  61. Hi adriene,
I get extreme pain in my right knee when doing low lunges (when my left leg is up in the front and my right knee is in the back lying on the ground)

  62. I ❤️️ Reading all these great comments and sharing the journey. Love to you all from Down Under.

  63. I had to rewind a couple of minutes of the video because the "forearm plank" bit sent me straight into a laughing fit xD

  64. It was so hard to show up today but I pushed through it. I don't feel as great as on other days when I have been more "in it" but I guess that's why it's called practice – tomorrow will be better. Thanks for making this a journey.

  65. I am feeling this today! Oh my! Maybe it's because I'm also coughing a lot, but the abs are saying hello quite often today! 😛 Will medicate with tea all day and get on the mat for Day 7 tonight. Can't wait!

  66. Hi Adrien and Kula! I too am a day behind because I had one day that I just had too much to do. But it's okay! It's fine! It's not a race! I know before it's over I'll have enough spare time to do 2 sessions if I want to. I did Yoga Camp last year too...it feels really good to be consistent. I've missed days over the year in between but not many. I've also learned that a little yoga goes a long way so even if I can only do 10 minutes...that's what I do. I do yoga standing in line, I do yoga at the airport, I do yoga cooking breakfast. It's all good. Anyway off to do Day 6 and see where our journey is leading. Love ya Adriene!

  67. I just have to say I love the emails. I began a journey of deeper understanding of myself and my spiritual place in the world almost a year ago, and though I have always seen my body type/weight as a struggle, through this journey I have learned to let it go and just listen to what my body says it needs (normally a lot of tea). I found Adriene's yoga videos when I decided about 3 months ago that I needed something other than my normal gym routine; I needed something that would pair my physical body with my energetic one and work them as one. That's when I decided to try yoga, and found the "30 days of Yoga" series. Thank you Adriene for speaking in day 6's emails what I have recently realized and am now trying to impart on my friends and loved ones. Keep doing you.
(PS this was a HARD workout)

  68. Thank you for the email and pausing during the video to talk to us about our cognitions. Unfortunately, this video was very difficult for me and I wasnt able to keep it positive. I finished the video crying and in a very negative space. I was not able to do a majority of this video and had trouble honoring where my body is today. Hopefully, I can get to a more positive head space tomorrow.

  69. Hello!

How come my comments aren't posting? I've had "Your comment is awaiting moderation" on all my comments for 2 days now : ( I feel like it's too late now and I've missed out on joining the conversation!

It's funny, because this is symbolic of my journey through life - I'm always flying solo! : )

  70. I was sick for a few days at the beginning of this program, so I am catching up. I did Day 3, 5, and now 6 today. (I did 4 when it came out as I was starting to feel better-the prana practice was nice to heal my tummy). I was feeling it by the end of this one, but so glad I did it. My mindset is better than ever, and I really mean ever, and I have this practice of yoga with Adriene to thank in large part for that. Life is good. Thank you Adriene for helping me to cultivate self-love, joy, and fun on the mat and in my life. And thank you for creating a practice that inspires me to do three workouts in one day so I can catch up with the group. This is truly something special. I don't do it because I have to, or that I should. I do it because I want to and choose to. What a gift. Props to everyone else practicing around the world! Onward!

  71. Arghh! I'm a couple behind! Not good! Day 6 & day 7 today to catch up. Just done day 6 and found it really tough as a total yoga newbie. That said, loving the programme and enjoying the #yogarevolution! Much love.

  72. Hello community, I am so enjoying the 31 days. I have just done day 6 today at 11.30pm as really wanted to give myself time on the mat and not put it off.
I love the idea of us all around the globe doing this and giving ourselves time to tune into our bodies.
Thank you Adriene for that possibility 🙂

  73. Thank you, thank you, thank you

Getting caught back up after a couple days of not feeling well.

Day 6, was awesome, even with the slight struggle with Eagle Legs

    Namaste

  74. It is incredible to me that in simply setting the intention to "make it to the mat" I have made such a huge investment in myself. I am battling several fairly serious health conditions that makes many forms of exercise painful - this challenge has been beautiful. Thank you. ❤️

  75. Hello!
I registered for the yoga revolution emails a few days after starting the videos and am now getting the emails late. For example, I'm on the day 10 video but received the day 6 email today. Is there anyway to fix this? I'd love to be up to date!

P.S. you're awesome and you have a fan, follower and yoga student all the way from Bahrain!

  76. Thanks, this six days have been great I look forward to continue all days
    You are great
    /Sweden

  77. Your Yoga Revolution is saving my soul this month! Thank you so much for your love and energy.

  78. Have only just got round to day 6 so am getting behind but still I will get there even if it is a week behind every one else. Was not looking forward to abs buts managed it with certain calmness!!!! Just hope I'm doing it right.....

  79. Thanks for this wonderful practice and experience! I just wanted to ask ( I know others have but I haven't seen a response) - is there any way to get ahead on the emails? I am on Day 8 of the practice, but my emails are 2 days behind. It would be great to have them synced, but I don't want to stop doing this routine for 2 days to catch up. Thanks!!

  80. Hi Adrienne, I'm on day 6 (I started the revolution a little late) and am really enjoying it! I am currently having IVF and we're due to have an egg transferred back in a couple of weeks. Are all the exercises safe for me to do as I have been advised to try to keep my uterus 'calm'? Many thanks!

    1. I was kind of wondering the same thing. I'm assuming once I'm pregnant I'll have to switch over to prenatal yoga, but I wonder if this is safe during implantation/conception.

  81. Oh....My.....Gosh.... Wow, that was an ab-arrific workout. Super hard for me today but I made it through. I' about 10 days behind everyone, and its probably going to take me 50 days to do this 31 day challenge, but I'm gonna make it. I think I can....I think I can...I think I can....lol

  82. I am 65 and have spinal stenosis and very bad knees. I found you on Facebook and I love the way you teach yoga so joined this because you said it was for beginners. Well, your beginners that can do this must be young and flexible where as these old joints just don't do what you want them to do. I modify the poses where I can and I got through the first 4 pretty well. Day 5 and day 6, however are way beyond me and I know it is just going to get harder as I go along. Do you have videos for real beginners?

    1. I am fairly experienced, but out of practice and am 34. The videos are hard! And leave me sore. I have been doing them at my own pace. Every two or three days. She has lots of amazing videos on YouTube! Most are way easier than these. I hope you can find something that works for you! Namaste 🙂

  83. Hi Adriene, loving your videos- I am not usually into exercising but i can already feel the benefits of these routines. i have a question- is it best to eat before doing the videos? I have been doing them in the morning before breakfast... is that ok? And also should I be drinking water during/before/after the video? Thank you 🙂

  84. Adriene you have made me do yoga everyday!!! I enjoy your videos soooo much!!! Thank you for sharing and being you 🙂 looking forward to more videos, more classes, more emails!!! Thanks again, We Venezuelans are going to a crisis (social, political and economical) and these yoga minutes are greaaaat to fill our hearts and souls with good vibes! 🙂

  85. I tried to approach Yoga multiple times in my life. Either it has finally come the right time for me (my inner me), or you made up an AMAZING-STIMULATING-ENJOYABLE challenge, or both, but I just wanted to thank you Adriene. After years of Crossfit, Gymnastics or whatever I tried, I'm finally starting to understand Yoga for real, and the power behind it.
I feel like when I started meditating (and that alone deeply changed my life during last year)!

From deep in my heart, thank you.

    🙂

  86. WOW that was amazing! I feel so comfortably warm in all the perfect ways. I didn't even know this feeling existed. Thank you so much for this, I'll be bookmarking this one for future use 😉

  87. Wow! Day six was laugh out loud funny! Thank you so much! I feel my spirit and body shifting. You are a gift to yoga and to me. Thank you for focusing on the mind, spirit and body. I love it!

  88. I have managed to complete day six. Hardest yet, couldn't quite manage the eagle legs and yoga bike but still enthused by the whole thing, thanks Adriene, you have breathed new life into a 67 year old.

  89. Awesome day 6! Thank you so much for this Adriene!!!! You are most inspiring!! It is just great that technology makes it possible to join you across space-time.

See you tomorrow, in Buenos Aires, for day 7!!

    Cheers,

    Monica

  90. HI Adrienne! I am about to embark on day 6 in a little bit but wanted to take a moment to tell you how much I have enjoyed the last 5 sessions. Your energy, thoughtfulness, humor and KINDNESS to us is uplifting. I am going through a bit of "soul searching" these days and am glad that I happened upon your program. Thanks a bunch and in answer to the question of favorite "RHYTHM" song, mine is "I've Got Rhythm" by George Gershwin 🙂

  91. Hi Adriene!

I am expecting and currently in my second trimester. I love your videos and am starting the Yoga Revolution series. I know there are certain poses pregnant women aren't supposed to do. Do you have any suggestions for alternatives or modifications specifically? I love you girl!

  92. Wow! Today was a challenge for me, the downward dog to plank was intense! Thanks for the videos (and I love all the extras you bring to each session!).

Looking forward to my next session on the mat with you.

    Michelle

  93. Best class ever! I really have trouble engaging the core in a meaningful way, but this class brought me to the sweet spot. I hope to revisit this one often!

  94. Hey A

Really love your videos, I completed your 30 day program with little to no hiccups with doing it everyday, I'm now 7 days in to your 31 day program and haven't and will not miss a day!!!
It's really taken me to a place of self healing and meditation everyday, I am starting to now go and learn Kung Fu & Will be starting learning Bikrim yoga after this course hopefully in a group
