Meditation For Humility

Yoga prepares the body for meditation. And for me, the marriage of yoga and meditation is the ultimate invitation back to balance.

The route to inner strength and inner peace is through connecting to a higher power. It requires you to explore acceptance and humility.

Today, simply do your best to sit with yourself at this stage in your life, on this beautiful day.

NOTE: There is no soothing music in this one.

It’s all you, me, us.

Breathe.

  6. Dear Adriene, I found you on January 1st as I was looking for a new exercise program to start the year. I had spent the last year concentrating on a new job and had gain too many pounds. I did not know much about yoga. I started with the 30 day True challenge and I absolutely loved it. It has been 6 months of daily yoga and I feel amazing. My children and my husband even join me from time to time. I even started running in the spring and I have been doing 5k runs with my 11year old son. At 50, I feel like 30.., I lost the extra weight and even a little more! Weirdly enough, you have become my friend and I refer you to my own friends. Thank you for your generosity and your dedication. I appreciate every practice as I am getting stronger and better. I wish you the best of luck in all your projects. You are an amazing person.

  9. I love your message Adriene. I am currently reading a book about Ernest Hemingway and the quote is surprising to me. He did not seem to live his life that way. I wonder if in the latter part of his life he was able to come to this understanding. If so, that is very cool. Growth, change, enlightenment. Peace.

    Thank you for guiding in a non-threatening manner, that encourages mself and others to seek out the best in ourselves. This year for the first time, I packed my yoga mat in my suitcase to maintain my practice while I vacationed. I knew I would keep working out because I would hear and see you anywhere I went. I did, you were, I practiced mornings and sometimes late evenings. Thank you for helping me stay strong throughout the trip despite ongoing challenges. Namaste!

  16. Thank you Adriene!! I’ve just finished your Yoga for the Abdominal Wall - I didn’t take you up on the repeating it business tho’ - once is ENOUGH already. I kept thinking ‘abs of steel Bel, abs of steel which got me through without too much shaking of the legs. Then...I decided to top it off with Meditation for Humility which took my mind off my abs and onto the crap I had on the table of my mind. This, I nonchalantly brushed away with a graceful sweep of mind’s eye hand and there it was...perfect peace. Yum. Namaste Adriene

I just did yoga for abdominal wall and this one after it and when I was getting ready for the extended child's pose my dog decided to lie down between my legs and I just sat there for 5 minutes until he decided to lie next to me and he lied there this whole practice. This meditation was humbling and refreshing, loved it. After it I was yet again grateful for you, for allowing me to find my inner peace and balance. Namaste! <3

  18. A few months ago, I started a daily morning habit of sun salutations followed by pigeon pose and half frog. This morning, after all that, I went right into this video. Meditation is very challenging for me, but I sat on the mat, looked out the window and the blue sky and tops of the trees, then closed my eyes and let it happen. It was transforming!

  22. To Adriene. I was 23 stone when i started this journey and suffered from so many medical conditions and also severe depressions. I did stop and start to begin with and it was a struggle but here i stand just under 15 stone happier healthier and more mindful of myself and the universe around me.I am not at the end of my journey but i can see the light and that is such a beautiful thing All i can say is Thank you for giving me life purpose and to make me smile again.You touch so many spirits with what you do and with the power of Love , practice and meditation you can find your true beautiful self. love to you and all namaste

    I "discovered" you some 2 years ago through a dear friend, and I must admit I was hooked up from the start! I'm totally addicted to you :-): a perfect day is one where I can do a morning and evening session with you, a good day is one where I can at least meet you once on the mat, but a frustrating day is one where life (through job, kids, health or whatever) prevents me from doing any yoga at all. Î've bought a travel yoga mat and drag you along with me wherever I go. I just absolutely LOVE doing yoga: it gets me connected to myself and I feel, through this channel, to so many more!

    I just got through a cervical operation, and the doctor told me no yoga for 3 months, because yoga envolves neck movements. Just the idea of it depresses me. So I rolled out my yoga mat for the first time since 2 weeks thanks to this video, and I could do it, wearing my neck brace!!! I'm so greatful to you for guiding me back to my mat through this video. Thank you so much Adriene!

    If, by any chance, you could find in your hectic days the time, in your mind the inspiration and in your heart the love to create asana-yoga-sessions with NO NECK MOVEMENTS AT ALL, that I could daily combine with this meditation session, I would be ever so incredible grateful to you!

    But thinking of it, I am already incredible grateful to you for all you brought me daily since I started following you. You are amazing and I love you deeply.

  33. This evening, as I gathered soft fruit from the garden, I realized I could bend down and pick without being distracted by back pain. That's not the same as not having pain, year on year we tend to get a bit achier. Since practicing yoga with you and this community I'm much more able to manage discomfort both physical and mental.
    I enjoyed this meditative practice.

  34. Thanks Adrienne for this refreshing meditation. Normally, I have problems letting go, but this time, I think I was ready to surrender and it's easier with your soothing voice. Really good meditation after a yoga practice!
