    1. As soon as I saw the words "Warm Heart of Africa ", my attention was caught. I lived in Limbe, Malawi from 1969 to ~ 1976, and, in fact was, where I discovered yoga... What a beautiful country, with beautiful people! Greetings!

  3. A few of my friends chuckled that I decided to give up coffee and self-doubt for lent, but this video made me feel even better and more supported by my decision to consciously let go of doubtful behaviors. Thank you, as always, for the yummy, cleansing practice!

  11. I needed this today. I was crying before I got on my mat because I was riddled with self doubt. Without even knowing what the theme was for today, I chose to just get on my mat and vowed to let go of it all. What beautiful synchronicity to see that the theme aligned!!!

  13. Turned on my computer this morning already worried about my 13 yr old son and this was today's practice! I invited him to join me to do the alternate nostril breathing knowing how it always makes me feel better about life in general and he ended up staying through the practice - it was a mini game of Twister trying to share my mat with my quickly growing boy and we both giggled together. My heart warming. After he said that he wanted to remember the breathing and that with each deep breath he felt like his "brain was able to swim". Love it! Love you! Thanks for always "knowing" what we in the community seem to need for that day - the universe does provide if we keep our hearts and minds open, doesn't it?

    I have been doing yoga in occasional classes and sporadic home practice for about 10 years but never really got into a satisfying groove. However, I discovered you on YouTube at the end of last year and have been doing my yoga practice with you pretty much every day since. I haven't ever commented on your videos (until now) but I just wanted to thank you for being such a breath of fresh air. Without wishing to be too cheesy, you and your yoga videos have given me a huge amount of strength (mental, emotional and physical) and you have made an enormous difference to my life. I being YTT in just two weeks, and while I depend on you for my daily home study, I fortify it with a little Kundalini, which I hope someday to teach as well as alignment based Vinyasa.     Adriene, your careful explanations, coupled with a brightness for life, have made a huge difference in my daily practice. I had the flexibility but I was leaving out self-love. I want to take care of the body, mind, soul that has carried me here and these videos are the best tool to do that.

  42. Brother-in-law: So what are you doing, yoga or meditation?
    Me: Yoga. I'm scared of meditation.
    Him: You're scared?
    Me: Yeah... it's like, my brain won't get quiet, and I know that's the point, but then I start to think, what if I'm doing it wrong? What's the point if I'm doing it all wrong?
    I start the video... and end up doing a mini-meditation learning to breathe and let the anxiety go.

  43. Seriously!!!!! After four days of dealing with issues, unanswered month(s) long prayers, friends with more problems then I can count. God tells me to settle down and relax, my husband says go see "Adriene" and there it is.... a "Self Doubt" practice. Okay, I may need to do it 4 times thru.

  45. Hi Adriene! It is OK to modified videos like this one during first weeks of pregnancy? Yoga for pregnancy is about improving the experience or its because you can not move same as before? I would like to understand the logic of the difference. And I really hope that, if we pregnancy goes well, when I will have the baby you will have already done a postpartum series! 🙂
    Can I do the root Chakra series modifying it during this first weeks? It gives a lot of peace!!! 🙂

    Just as I wake and wonder what my day will be like and feel a soreness creeping in around my right shoulder and a sense of doubt coming to mind, I find this video attachment in my e-mail. Wow - could not have been more ´right on!´ for my fame of mind. Grateful to your teachings and grateful for my perseverance to look at each question, each mindful moment poised behind the doubtful ego thoughts to keep on keeping on.   57. I do not believe the words "thank you" are enough to explain the impact your yoga videos have had on my life. I stopped smoking marijuana about 2 weeks ago and ever since then I have been experiencing night-terrors and waking up extremely anxious with my heart racing. Today I practiced ujjayi breathing, using your video as a guide then came across this one. My breath went from scary and feeling uncontrolled to calm, happy, and in complete control. It is easy to forget that you are in full control of oneself. I appreciate you, all your hard work, and all of what you've taught me in such a charismatic way.
