Learn Gate Pose or Parighasana as our Foundations of Yoga series continues. This pose is a great check in with the center or the core! It lengthens the side body, stretches the legs and is wonderful for a strong and healthy back body. Use your breath to grow the pose and watch it unfold. Smile and enjoy!

THIS feels GOOD!!!
yoga and laughter love it
The kids and I roller-skated today, so I needed something low-key.. My yoga is usually pretty intense throughout the week, so I chose this for today's routine just to stretch it all out carefully. Thank you for this short stretch.
This video was my first experience with Gate Pose. Really liked it!
Thank you for you're way of teaching. You break it down so easy. I am glad I can come back to you and refine or learn more about each pose. 🙂
Hi Adriene,
I was wondering what is the difference between gate pose star gazer pose and wild thing pose they all look very similar
You discussed pressing into the mat with the extended leg in this video, but gravity places absolutely all of my weight on my wrist and my folded knee in this pose. How is it possible to press some weight into the extended leg? 🙁
