Energizing Morning Yoga

Today, we have an Energizing Morning Yoga practice. This is something that is going to wake up and heat the entire body. This yoga practice stretches and strengthens the muscles with a strong focus on breath and body alignment.

We're going to check in with the core, we're going to check in with our arm muscles. We're going to wake up the legs, do a little spinal flex, and of course tap into the breath.

Take a second before you begin the practice to just kind of get comfortable to have your coffee brewing, or your tea brewing, to take a sip of water, and just really jump into this mindfully, so it's more than just exercise even though we are going to get a little bit of a workout today.

Make sure you set the tone for your day by setting the tone for your practice right here, right now. Let's get everything ready and get started with an energizing morning sequence.

Get your workout in early, connect to your breath, be mindful and find what feels good.

Be sure to check out our Gentle Morning Yoga practice which is really lovely. You can interchange them whenever you have time, moving from energizing morning yoga to a more gentle morning practice just to find that balance, which is what our Yoga practice is all about.

    1. Oh, love back at you my friend! It is a joy having you in the YWA family. I am so grateful for this exchange! Lets keep ROCKING it out! Namaste!

  2. Thank you I loved this, very different from 'normal' yoga. I've never seen it done so fluidly before.

  3. Wonderful, energizing flow. Great way to start the day, or for a midday pick-me-up! Better than caffeine!
And a personal THANK YOU for sharing your videos. I have been practicing yoga for many years, but recently moved to a farm far, far away from any studios. Your videos have enabled me to enrich my daily practice, despite only being able to get to a studio once a week. I'm jumping around from Yoga for Weight Loss to Vinyasa, and even Beginner and Foundations (it's so great to have a refresher and get back to basics!).
You're such a blessing! Looking forward to more videos 🙂

  4. Hi Adriene, thank you so much for this beautiful website. Since I've found you, I'm addicted to yoga and love hopping on the mat. Before I was more like "I-should-do-sports-yoga-seems-fine", but now I can't get enough of it and my body feels great! Could you do a sequence especially for the arms and shoulders, please? Love from Vienna!

  5. I think you are great; Love the way you teach! Thanks for a great way to begin the day!
    <3 namaste!

  6. This morning routine is FANTASTIC especially when I haven't slept well and have a full day ahead of me. I love the quote, "be responsible for your own happiness" as a mantra. Subscribing to your YouTube channel was such a great decision for me! Thank you for this gift!

  7. Hello from the UK. I am so very grateful for finding you. You are a blessing x.

So easy to follow even with arthritis in my knees.

    Jackie x

I have a request: could you please give us Five Tibetans, Adriene-style?

  10. So happy I found your site Adriene. Just finished as a yoga teacher and your videos are a great help to me both for my own practice and for teaching them. THANKS.
And those pants: WHERE ARE THEY FROM???

  11. My wife and I have been following your videos for about a month and we are so appreciative! You are so easy to hang out with and make yoga fun and approachable for inflexible novices like us. Keep doing what you're doing, we love it!

I have just recently found your website and I am loving your yoga videos!
Just a request, do you have any yoga that could help knee pain?
    Thank you again!

Merci beaucoup! Vous êtes géniale =D

  16. Especially for a person who does not follow football as religiously, it could be quite tedious for you
to merely evaluate the right kind of shoes for your kid.
Have a read on for some more information and to decide which one is right for you.
Use the Prowler as a finisher or on a non-lifting day as a way to condition.

  17. Hi Adriene, thank you so much for all your videos. One thing I find difficult when a sequence is more "energizing" like this one is to continue to move with my breath. I get "out of breath", maybe I'm not "fit" enough, and must take 2 or 3 breaths in to complete one movement... What would you recommend me to do?

    1. I wish Adriene was here to give me some advice when I need it myself too but remember there are modifications for everything I struggle with my balance Your body is probably just trying to tell you something Jist do what you can and the rest will just come in time I’ve dealt with a a bad knee and ankle injury a couple years back and know what it’s like but the more and more you do the stronger you will become

  18. I did this video this morning and am worried I'm doing some poses wrong. I can't let my legs straight or heels down in downward dog, and you had one pose where you brought knee to elbow..I couldn't quite do it without keeping the knee not being brought to an elbow, grounded. Am I doing something wrong? This was my second morning doing yoga and I don't want to pick up bad habits

    1. As long as you’re moving you are doing it right Some things just take time Don’t be so hard on yourself You were willing to show up here in your mat and did your best That’s says.a lot Just remember that you are on your own spiritual journey modify when you have to and remember to go back to your breath when you have to

  19. Hello Adriene, love your videos. Was on a business trip to Australia for 2 weeks when I discovered your your youtube site. Through your videos I was able to keep up with my practice and it was like your videos kept me company while I was away from family and friends.

    Thank you!
    All the Best,
    Annette

    1. Adriene and Beni are great family They are very much the hilight of waking up every morning to do her videos before heading off tot the gym I have to write down my next video for the next morning and am always on this site It’s very comforting She makes me feel at home too

  20. Thank you so much for all your videos. you're my lifesaver , did you know that? When I'm down, or stressed or heartbroken our bluesy or anxious, your yoga is what gives me the power and energy to go for the day. It(s what keeps e healthy. Thank you so much, Adrienne! Greetings, all the way from Brussels!!

  21. This just makes me wish you taught yoga over at our gym You are blessed with this kind of talent I have seen so many yoga instructors come and go but come off a little more strict in their practices Its about finding what feels good and reminding everyone to have fun with what they do cause it’s about knowing how you are making a difference in all those peoples lives I also know someone who ran someone else out of business cause they wanted. more business and threatened to sue I have a friend involved in that who could wind up hurt I still go to that community class to remind her she isn’t alone and can always have me to turn to if she is to ever need someone to confide in It just reminds me how we need more people like her and Adriene who are willing to keep the peace and remind us that whatever comes up on the mat - comes up on the mat if I tear up and am stressed - I know it’s fine cause I know no one is here to judge and I respect that I love you so much Adriene Wish you were here
