  6. Dear Adriene,

You have made me a yoga addict. I discovered your channel October 2014 while I was stationed in Germany. I am currently in Tennessee and transitioning out of the military after being deemed unfit for continued service due to fibromyalgia and major depressive disorder. Monday thru Friday I was religiously getting up early to follow your videos before going to work. I admit I have been in a bit of a funk since I moved two months ago, but I'm slowly getting back into my routine. When enduring chronic pain I have learned it is better to move than to be still, even on the worst of pain days. I have the ability to do anything, but there are painful consequences to anything I do. Thank you so much your videos! You have given me a way to move that results in acceptable consequences and I am in much better shape than I would otherwise be in. Lastly, I would like to make a request. I love your yoga for back pain videos! If possible, I would like to request yoga for hip pain. The majority of my pain is in the right side of my lower back/right hip area. You are doing a wonderful job! I wish you love and happiness!

    Namaste,
    ~Sarah

    1. Sarah, I really enjoyed reading your comment, especially the part about how you have found it better to move that just be still when you have pain. I get a lot of pain in my back and so I am curious as to which particular yoga moves you do when you have back pain. Just like you, though, I also deal with hip pain and the only thing that has been working for me so far has been raising my knee to my chest, holding it, and bending down. You'll hear a snap and have temporary relief. Other than that, I am in the same boat as you and would like to know what I can do for that pain as well.

      1. Faylinn, I find doing supine one legged pigeon and supine cow pose really help my back & hip pain. The psoas video also is fantastic.

  7. Thank you! Had some sort of stomach virus with body aches (mostly back and hips) he last couple of days. I feel sooooo much better and relaxed after this practice.

  8. Thank you so much! Your 30 Days of Yoga started me back to yoga last year and this year I did the Yoga Camp in January and again in June. I have gone from I would like to do yoga a few times a week to every morning. This Yoga for Back Pain is perfect as I have pulled my lower back (gardening) and wanted a modified practice. I will check out the other back pain videos too.

Good to hear what Sarah says about moving through pain. The advice for back pain is to keep moving if possible, and I feel so much better after this. In fact, I feel worse sitting still. Thank you again.

  9. Your yoga is helping me through social isolation up here in Toronto. I started my birthday today with some yoga for back pain....because today is MY day! And your help is what I needed to begin my day 🙂
    Forever grateful for your videos.

  10. Hello Adriene,

I am a firefighter and hurt my back at work yesterday. My wife sent me a link to this video of yours and I wanted to thank you, as it helped me feel better last night and even better today.

    Thanks for sharing this video.

  11. Just want to say thanks ... I don't know that I yet have the discipline (or consistent time) to allocate, but will incorporate more yoga into my back pain resolutions. Very grateful for the approach you bring in this video...hard to express how deeply it reached. Surprised me!
