Get well soon Adriene! I have just started on your blog, have been on holiday so have had the time to work through the Foundations and the videos every day. I have tried yoga before but haven't enjoyed or understood it as much as I do through following your videos. So I will do my best to continue when I get back to work in London, and I really hope you feel better soon x
Oh thank you sweet one! I have friends in London and hope to make it over there for a little Yoga and play. Yoga play! Starting with the Foundations takes patience but it is the way to go! To slow down and discover or re-discover the body, the breath - the current moment. Thank you Liz! I hope to stay connected <3
Last August I had a horrible experience with GERD that led me to lose my voice as well. I believe it's called muscle tension dysphonia. These last six months have been difficult and not being able to speak properly has been quite depressing :(. I am currently working with a speech pathologist to hopefully get my voice back but I was wondering what you're experience has been? What helped you get through the tough times? I know that stress plays a big role in my voice disorder and I have been interested in trying yoga as a way to relax. I wanted to thank you for posting this video and I'm looking forward to experiencing yoga through your videos.
Oh Susie, it has been a roller coaster for sure. I feel my friends and family don't understand and the hardest moments are when I am attempting to sing or on my way to a job and praying for a good voice. I have learned that staying calm and focusing my thoughts towards a positive serving attitude is KEY. What I eat and drink seems to play a key part as well. I ended up having a tumor on my right vocal cord. Thankfully it was benign but this made it all the more confusing when we were trying to decipher just how much the GERD affecting my vocal chords. I plan to write more about this after my next follow up. For now, I practice conscious thinking, affirmations and patience. Love to you. Lets keep in touch.
I can't believe I didn't see your reply until now! Thank you for your support and suggestions. I'm going on 9 months with this hoarse voice and I'm at a loss. I will try to stay positive while practicing relaxation techniques. I hope all is well with you.
Hey Adriene! I'm a huge fan of your yoga videos but actually never really followed your vlog ot blog, so now that I'm dealing with acid reflux and loosing my voice, I see what a mistake that was.;) I just wanted to know what kind of therapy you took part in - like school medicine or more natural remedies? And I'd like to know if there were certain foods or teas that helped you? I'd be so glad to hear from you and actually felt much less alone with the problem now 🙂

Hi Adriene,
Just started the 30 day yoga (torture).
I just love the way you teach. Stay funny and keep teaching stuff your way.
It's a revelation. Stay sweet!
