TRUE - Day 21 - Finesse

Open your soul to grace.

Today we focus on finesse over force.

Life can toss and turn us leaving us to feel a tad bit jerked around.

And then we hop on the yoga mat and often I see folks jerk and toss their bodies all the same.

Today’s session invites you to focus on the quality of movement…and grace.

Pay attention to the way you move - not just in the poses but in the transitions as well.

Circling back to the intention behind the movement will allow you to create a meaningful relationship with your body and breath both on and off your mat.

For me, this type of work allows me to let go of stress, tension, and worry. This ensures that I am not carrying around a bunch of weight I do not need to bear.

Marry the strength with the grace…

the effort with the ease.

Finesse > Force.

Continue to work with the solid foundation that you have created and Find What Feels Good.

See you there!

Namaste,
Adriene

PS: HAPPY MONDAY! Carve out the time for your practices! The next two sessions are 20-22 mins. You so got this. Have an awesome week!

  1. I found you at the tail end of last year and happened upon you and your true series on the 1st January at a time of transition in my own life, perfect timing, some might call it fate.

It has been no effort to show up daily in fact an utter pleasure! What will i do when the series comes to an end I so want to continue a daily practice?

    Your an amazing teacher!

    Namaste

  2. Dear Adrienne,
I've just discovered thanks to a lovely friend. Can I start the journey from day 1?
    All best, Sigi

  3. Hi Adrienne. I managed to get through the First three days of this program and then became very ill. I’m at home now pretty much confined to bed and attached to a 24 x7 IV. I’m finding I’m getting stiff and sore from lying around in bed too much and was wondering if you could recommend one of your videos that I might try just to stretch out a little bit Particularly one doesn’t require putting weight on my arms cause I’m full of wires and gadgetry. Looking forward to a response and perhaps some relief. Thank you Arlene

    1. Sending you vibes of encouragement 🙂 ... I just started checking out Adriene in the last couple of months and love it so much I can't even explain it to people !! I'm writing to you to let you know that my parents are in their eighties, and get something out of watching yoga videos even when they don't feel they are able to do any particular movements ... just listening to Adriene, and perhaps doing ankle circles, following the breathing, the mindfulness, the peace ... I thought I should share that with you, as they really get something out of it .. you're on the right path just by wanting to do something ...wishing you health !!

  4. Thank you for sharing your gift, a wealth of knowledge that is helping me be more well!

  5. This may have been answered on a previous post but I was just wondering what you suggest to continue with after TRUE.

    1. I started the challenge at the beginning of this 2020 school year a few weeks ago. Training was stressful, and the beginning of the semester hasn't been much better, but this yoga challenge is helping me through it all. Because I've been refocusing and refreshing each night, I've even been able to help others in my department work through our problems from a place of (somewhat) inner peace. Thank you, Adriene!

  6. Thank you,
Progressing with everyone through the journey, though it's taking more than 30 days.
Some days I skip back to the beginning, some to your back and neck care. But progressing I am.
I love the mindfulness to calm after busy workdays and morning practice to stretch out sore muscles and prepare for the day ahead. I hope this will now be a lifelong commitment to yoga.
    Adriene, I am grateful.

  7. I love this series Adriene! You are so right about infusing GRACE into the practice! I didn't notice how much I tend to jerk myself around. Ha ha. The mindset of finesse, grace really shifted things for me. You rock! Thank you!!!
BTW, I love your jokes and quirky comments : )
