You knew it had to happen sometime.
I thought I would go ahead and get it out of the way this week.
Blue, the dog, is the ultimate SOTW and companion. He reminds me to see the playful side of things and to stay active. He is kind, he is sensitive and his favorite pose is Downward Dog with Upward Facing Dog following with a close second. He really likes Reverse Triangle Pose too! (Just kidding, no one likes Reverse Triangle.)
Blue loves to be involved in the action. He has made several appearances on the show. Most notably in the Halloween Episode- Corpse Pose and of course in Downward Facing Dog.
Blue often lays on the mat before we shoot and he is constantly finding a place (usually in the middle) to snuggle on my mat when I am floating through my personal practice.
I love my sweet Blue Heeler. I cherish him and thank the heavens for his companionship, his loyalty and deep abiding love. Play! Play! Follow Blue's advice and don't forget to play!
So there we have it. Its done. It will never happen again. Student of the Week- Man's Best Friend Edition.
Capture a picture of your best friend on the mat?
F-IT! Share it with me! I may just have a Student Of The Week- Mans Best Friend SECOND Edition.
I make the rules right???
Cats make great yoga companions too! Myles and Franklin enjoy a good cat/cow and corpse pose. Their favorite is tousle-owner's-hair-while-in-down-dog pose 🙂 And don't forget Vinyasa chicken. This belly's going down whether you're there on not!
Sydney! Perhaps you need to provide me with the materials for YWA'S Student of the week Feline addition?! As you well know I do not have cats but perhaps it is good for my website to be well rounded? 😉
We taught our puppy downward facing dog! She does it on command. It's so cute. She loves to stretch it out!
Birdie, my maine coon cat LOVES LOVES LOVES to do yoga with me. As soon as I get on the floor she chatters from across the room and hurries to the mat. We both lie on our backs and I will do kitty yoga first. In corpse pose we lengthen our bodies from the tips of our kitten fingers to the tips of our toes. Then we get all organic on each other. If I roll, she rolls. Then she'll get up and move closer with a few trills in accompaniment and then on her back she goes. And then....just like that, she jumps up and runs a few laps around the house before she settles in a small spot of sun for a morning nap.
Funnily enough my Maine Coon Suki does the exact same thing, she also loves to chase the strings of my yoga pants in downward dog! 🙂
Aw, how cute! 🙂
Awwwwwwwwww, so cute! I love dogs and cats and yoga so a cat or dog yogi is just so cute!
I just had a dog visitor, my aunt was busy and her lovely boxer Pia came over for an hour. She lay down on my yoga mat immediately (I like to think she felt the positive energy, I feel it for certain even if I just cross it to get to the other side of the room).
Of course her downward and upward dog poses are flawless but I wanted to show her my downward dog, I was a bit silly at the time, I admit, but she loooved it, crawled under me and licked my neck until I collapsed in giggles.
Your Blue looks like a great companion. 🙂
All the pups love yoga! When I roll out my mat, mine have usually been convinced I am setting up a bed for them!

I had to smile when I saw that your dog was named Blue. I had a dog named Blue many years ago.---"Blue, Blue, ya good dog, you." --- old bluegrass song.
It is sad the pictures of blue for this page are broken! So we can only see the bottom one. 🙁 I miss Blue! It is also really great your videos with Benji in them! Pets are so wonderful. My mom's dog Sparky is also a blue heeler and looks exactly like Benji! Except with a tail. 🙂 She actually posted a picture of him on your Facebook Page and you or whoever responds on your account commented on the picture so maybe you remember! It was just a few days or week ago. Anyways, just wanted to say I look forward to anymore vlogs that you make (they are always so wonderful to hear your thoughts). Also so happy you continue to have free yoga videos for those of us who can't afford more. I REALLY APPRECIATE YOU and all that you are offering to the world with your videos, kindness and amazing spirit! Thank you! Namaste! 🙂
