- Hello, my sweet friends and welcome to Flow, A 30 Day Yoga Journey. It is Day 0. What is Day 0 you may ask? Well, let's find out together. (light rhythmic music) Alright, if you're still watching this, you rock. This is a welcome video for the 30 Day Yoga Journey. This is like an orientation day. A get ready, get set day, prepare, tell your loved ones you're committing to a journey that is all about falling into a flow that serves. So we live in a world that is full of distractions and it has come quite common to make some choices that are unconscious, you're kind of moving and grooving so fast or you're being fed a lot of information. This journey is really about taking two things for yourself, time and space. And in this time and space that we're gonna share together, we're gonna create a more fluid conversation between the mind and the heart and take care of your bod as well, of course. So that's it. Today is really an orientation day. I like this video. It's short, it's sweet, just in case you weren't quite ready to begin it gives you a day for breathing room. I really believe in the power of community. This is my 10th time to do this 30 Day Yoga Journey as a project, as an offering, and I've seen it with my own heart, my own eyes, the connection that it serves individuals at home, but also the way it connects us to other people that we would have normally never even think to be connected with. It's really special and really powerful and so I hope you enjoy this ride. It will be challenging at times to show up, but hear me now: The hardest part is showing up. If you can just get to the mat, the two of us, and maybe my trusty assistant here, we'll figure it out together. I'm really excited about this year's program. It is a little bit different than the years past, this one focuses on the energetic body quite a bit. So while the title may make you think that it's 30 days of vinyasa flow, it's not. You'll see a lot of vinyasa, almost in every video, but this really is about taking your practice to the next level. And it's about showing up each day and listening to your body where it's at. So you're not being told what to do, but rather given the opportunity, the time and space, to find what feels good and find balance in all parts of the self, especially that nervous system. Okay, some helpful tips that you probably already know but just in case you don't, you don't need anything fancy for this program. You don't need any equipment. You don't even really need a yoga mat. You just need a hard surface. I like to suggest bringing a blanket or a block but if you don't have those things, you can use a towel, you can use a big, thick book (laughs) for a prop and I really just want to stress that enough. You don't need any fancy clothes. You can wear anything that you can move in comfortably and you don't need a clean space or a quiet sanctuary. We will cultivate that from the inside out together. Trust me. I do think it is always nice to invite people to join you on this journey. It's great to have the accountability but also it creates the ripple effect that I think this project has become so well known for. So if you want to be a part of that beautiful ripple effect, invite your friends, invite your family, invite your coworkers to go on this journey with you. It costs nothing, just a little bit of your valuable time and energy, but it's all here, of course, for everyone to have the same opportunity to practice together. Alright, if you miss a day, don't skip that day. Go back and do that day. This journey does read like a good book. Each practice is like a paragraph or a chapter that sets you up for the next. So make sure to go on the full journey. I love hearing from you guys in the comments. I always have and I always will whilst I can't always respond to every single comment anymore, I do read almost all of them and I really appreciate you sharing your experience and your vulnerability and the way you love and cheer people on all across the world is so beautiful. So let's keep that going. Let's use this time to check in with who we are and where we are today as individuals but also as an international community. Wherever you're watching this video, take a moment now to sit up nice and tall, draw your palms together to your heart space. And let's take a deep breath in together and a long breath out together. And again, a deep breath in together. And a long breath out together. And then one more time, inhale. And exhale. That's it for today. Let me know how you're feeling in the comment section of this video and I will see you tomorrow for Day 1. Take good care. (upbeat rhythmic music)
