- Happy New Year, everyone. Welcome to Yoga With Adriene. I'm Adriene and it's 2013. Can you believe it? 2012 was a great year. It was a little bit of a doozy, but I learned a lot, fell in love, got to make an awesome movie and we started this project, Yoga With Adriene. I'm thrilled. I'm so humbled and grateful to be back with you. And we have some goodies for you, 2013. Last year, last semester we focused on the foundations of yoga, building things from the ground up. Trying to welcome people who are new to yoga and welcome people who maybe haven't been on the mat in a while back to their practice. OK, so what you can expect in 2013. Longer sequences. So even if you don't have a lot of time, we're going to extend the practices just a little bit with a more specific focus on weight loss, speeding up our metabolisms, stress relief. I also want to offer practices that just invite you to go on a little journey. Sometimes it's nice to have a little guide so you can put the video on, hop on your mat, and we can go through a little vinyasa, or a little flow together. I want to focus on, in the early part of the year, poses that inspire and create space. More potential. So in addition to the fitness-related things that we all are kind of thinking about right now at the top of the year, I also want to offer poses that inspire and create space, build potential, confidence, and the list goes on. At this time of year, we're setting our intentions for a life, an existence, that serves us. And the awesome thing about yoga is that every time we come on the mat we have an opportunity to set a positive intention, to set an intention for ourselves. And yoga's awesome, because sometimes we don't fee like setting intentions. (chuckles) We're just like, meh, it's much easier to just let it go, give up. But when we come to the mat, even if the practice is five minutes, two minutes, a one minute yoga practice, just a couple deep breaths in an out, or a 20-minute yoga for weight loss series, we have an opportunity to set an intention. And the power of word, the power of thought goes a long way. So I invite you to hop on the mat with me, subscribe to the channel. If you're returning to the practice or if you're beginner, just know that the beginning stages are the hardest. So here at the top of the year, we can come together, band of brothers, and inspire each other, encourage each other to get on the mat, set our intentions and find what feels good. (upbeat music)
