Yoga for Women

Ah, the joys of being a woman are many. But there is a moment each month where we might drop to our knees or throw our head in our hands and ask, okay scream, "WHY GOD WHYYYY!?" The world seems to be against beautiful you, the walls feel crumbly and all you want is for someone (everyone) to understand and tend to you, beautiful you - all day. But, alas, we get dressed and tend our jobs. We might have a little challenge but we do our jobs - cramps included, like an uphill climb - all day. NBD

CUE: Tiffany - I Think We're Alone Now

Every woman is different. So SO SO SO different. But we can all have a little connectivity over this one thing. Notice I did not say sympathy.

By request - here is the first video of the Yoga for Women series: Yoga Poses for Menstrual Cramps. A special ladies only yoga and forum that can CONNECT us and assist you in tending to the body during your time of the month. It is so important to take the time to feel supported, listen to the wisdom of the body and counteract any toxicity brought by PMS or other heightened stress.

This video invites you to slow it down. Set it up and feel the support. Then... breathe lady, you deserve this time.

As my friend (not in person friends yet- but one can dream, right?) Ru Paul would say,

"If you can't love yourself, then how in the hell are you going to love somebody else? Can I get an amen?"

AMEN.

  1. Hi Adriene: Noticed your just for women video. Thought this would be a good time to suggest a just for guys video. I'm a 65 year old fart. Heard of 'angry birds app?'. Well at my age us guys can get angry prostates. The bugger will get us up 3 or 4 times a night to pee. And lots of peeing during the day! I know yoga, over all, would help the prostate. Would there be asanas that would, say really be good or target the prostate? A video of that would be awsome! Youtube shows a bunch of prostate massage. As my wife so eloquently put it, "aint gonna happen!!". Us older guys would be forever thankful. Mean while I will continue to do your yoga videos. You are a blessing to all of us. You have the voice of a Goddess! Thank you so much for all that you do. Neal Weeks

  3. Another winner! This was a wonderful, soothing practice that really helped. Thank you so much for your site.

    Namaste!

  4. I was sincerely hoping you would have a video like this so I enter the search bar and what do ya know, I find it! Thank you for providing so many helpful videos and practices that specialize in pretty much any situation you can think of. Do you have any more videos in the "Yoga for women" series or is this something we can look forward to? Thank you again for all you do, I love your videos!

  5. Would you recommend this for the entire week cycle? Or just for the first few days while it's uncomfortable?

  6. hi adriene 😀 is there some poses that we shouldn't do while on our periods? thanks, namaste!!

  7. Hi Adriene! First of all, your classes are wonderful.
I have a suggestion got more female related video classes. I suffer from Endometriosis as do 1 in 10 women worldwide which leads to excrutiating pain and major damage to the reproductive system and other organs. I have found a few yoga for endometriosis videos on YouTube but I don't like any of the instructors as much as you. It would be incredible if you would do a class for all the endo sufferers out there. Big love and keep being awesome!

  8. Dear Adriene,
Thank you for your wonderful videos. You have improved my life beyond belief.
Just like Edi in the comment above mine, I was diagnosed with endometriosis and have been frantically searching for yoga practices to relieve symptoms and increase fertility. Unfortunately in the sea of information it is difficult to know who to trust so I wanted to ask you to point me, Edi and many other women living with this disease in the right direction. Can you please recommend yoga poses for this condition?
Many thanks for your amazing work!
    Love
    Kate

  9. Hi YWA team, friendly feedback about the wording of the video. It says for women, but anyone with a uterus can menstruate and need relief! Not all those with a uterus are women. Other yogis - please no hateful comments in response. Keep it to yourself.

  10. Thank you for this advice Adrienne. As always you are wonderfully supportive and I really appreciate your videos here in the UK. You're a legend!
    Namaste
