REVOLUTION: Day 2

Your Day 2 yoga practice invites you to focus on what it feels like to move with breath and intention. This practice blends yoga philosophy with your workout and continues to lay the foundation for beginners and beginners mind to grow from. Stay present, listen to your body every step of the way. Move from a place of connect and and see what unfolds!

When we practice moving with intention on the mat it becomes easier for us to move from a place of connect and move with intention and awareness off the mat. It’s all connected baby - so sink your teeth in.

Namaste.

  1. Hi, Adriene!
Thank you so much for this practice. Did day one today - so far so good!

I have two requests. First, and most important, a lot of us women who have had many kids have saggy pelvic floors and certain exercises can really exacerbate this problem. The problem is, the best way to improve strength down there is to strengthen the whole pelvic girdle, so I do abs work but I don't know enough to know when I've gone too far. If there is any way you can learn more about this to be able to guide us in strengthening without pushing things out too far, that would be wonderful. It's not obvious when you are doing it - it was either the hover or the plank, but I don't know which, but I thought it was fine until we were done. Ok, I hope that wasn't TMI.

The other request is to keep the videos under 40 minutes, if you possibly can, because the idea of carving out more time than that just doesn't tend to work on any given day.

Thanks so much, Adriene. Your work is a gift and you are a gift.

    -P

    1. It is on youtube as well. I suggest subscribing to her channel there and you can at least access them all that way.

    2. I agree with keep the videos to a manageable time--AND it would be helpful to have the times on the workout calendar so that we can plan in advance.

      1. I totally agress with Beth. I would be great to know the workout times in advance. So that I can integrate the yoga workout more easily in my daily schedule.
Anyway I'm really grateful for the challenge and I love the way your guide through the practice! Thank you, Adriene!

        1. Hi, we post the times prior but I will find a way to get this times to you from the beginning. Thanks! oxoxox
          NAMASTE! πŸ˜€

        1. I got emails for day 1 and 2, but didn't get one for day 3 yesterday...is there anyway to fix this? I'm so excited about this program!

      2. I was coming here from Youtube to suggest the same thing - I'm okay with taking what comes, but it'd be nice to know whether or not I'll have to hurry home from activities to have enough time for yoga πŸ™‚ There are a couple of days coming up that I worry about. Or knowing if I have a short enough practice to wake up early for when the nights are going to be late.

    3. Hi P!

Noted on the work of mothers and the core/pelvic floor. Thank you. I have been working with some women on this. I'll bring something with this specific focus in the new year. However, Revolution talks a lot about supporting via the muscles of pelvic floor and core work from an energetic approach which I find incredibly important for all women but especially mothers.

Also, each year we take what I have learned from feedback and implement that into the current program/offering. So, thank you for the feedback! All of these practices are in that time frame too - so we are off to a great start.

      Enjoy!

      Happy New Year!

      Namaste, Adriene

      1. I'm loving this. I just want to say that I would be interested in yoga for diastasis recti and pelvic floor too. I feel so unbalanced with this problem. Thank you for this 31 day challenge.

      2. I've found this practice (and the True 30 day program) to be really helpful for my pelvic floor - I'm a mother of two for 5 years now. I can honestly say that beginning daily yoga practice with Adriene has made a real difference to me for the first time since I had my kids - I admit I've been dreadful at doing the exercises the physios recommend! Now because I've been engaging my floor and core naturally in the practice, I've seen a real improvement.

Wishing the same for everyone else. Thanks Adriene.

    4. Hi P! I'm not Adriene but I have learned much about pelvic floor health after having three babies in the past 4 years. πŸ™‚ your pelvic floor, diaphragm, and abs are all involved with your breath. Since yoga cultivates a strong awareness of breath, its easy to merge pelvic floor work with yoga. πŸ™‚ when you breath your pelvic floor moves down and up like a trampoline. on the inhale, relax your pelvic floor (picture it moving down), when you exhale, lift your pelvic floor up and in (picture the pelvic floor rebounding up).
Some postures that lend themselves to coordinate with pelvic floor strengthening (that relaxing and contracting of the pelvic floor with the breath i described above) are: inversions like bridge and down dog, easy pose, mountain pose, staff pose, extended childs pose, goddess pose, warrior two, and tree pose.
Any time Adriene says "draw/lift up through your center channel" that's yoga-speak for "contract/lift your pelvic floor." Also, any seated position when you're rocked forward on your sit-bones (instead of rocked back on your tail bone), you have more front-body awareness and it will be easier to lift that front pelvic floor (the kegal area).
One of my favorite times to get in a good pelvic floor lift/contraction is when you move from extended child's pose to hand and knees. take a deep breath in and on the exhale lift up from your pelvic floor then tighten your abs and use that strength in your "center channel" to return yourself to hands and knees.
      Hope that helps!

    5. Hi!!! Thank you for this amazing journey! I am following you from Guatemala! I started my practice on January the 4th, but I suscribed yesterday to receive the daily e-mail, so I am on the e-mail part on day 2, and on the video part on day 6. Is there any way I can get the e-mails from day 3 to day 6 and tomorrow continue with e-mail day 7 and so on? Thank you! Good vibes!

    6. Thanks so much for this series. I really enjoy the videos and the emails. I wish that with signing up we could indicate which day we are on. I only signed up for the emails a couple days in to this series, so my emails are slightly off :/. Not a huge deal but it'd be nice to have them on track.

  2. Dear Adriene,

I am a huge fan of your youtube channel and you are such an inspiration! I started your yoga videos about a year or so ago and it helps calm me down when my anxiety is higher and helps me reconnect to the day and being in the moment. You have helped me recenter myself on days when I was feeling unbalanced. Thank you for being you! You are always so positive and funny and it makes me smile! Happy New Year to you and your family! I am grateful for your practices!

    1. Beautiful Autumn. Happy New Year to you and thank you for sharing your journey with me.

I am grateful and excited for a new revolution and this new year, together.
      namaste xx

  3. Hi Adriene!

First, thank you for all of the thought and work you put in your videos, including this 31-day Revolution series. I look forward to following along this month! I also got to add that I love the quality of your videos - that's how much work I know you put into them. So grateful for your seva!

Second, I do have to make a comment, though. Why use Vimeo? Vimeo doesn't have closed captioning (CC) like YouTube. I like reading your light-hearted, humourous musings. So, just you know there is a difference between those video-downloading sites. Please upload your videos on YouTube if possible. After all, it is accessible just like how yoga is accessible to all.

My two cents worth! And wishing you a Happy New Year in 2017 =)

    1. Adriene has got a YouTube-Channel. It is called Yoga With Adriene and the Revolution-Videos get uploaded there, too.

    2. Hi Sarah, you should check out Adrienes Youtubechannel πŸ˜‰ https://www.youtube.com/user/yogawithadriene

Thank you so much Adriene for your videos! I'm pregnant so I'll probably do a very adapted version of the yoga revolution as my third trimester body won't be able to do all the poses, but I do look forward to the daily input. (I also have your prenatal yoga videos and am very grateful for it!)

    3. It is on youtube as well. I suggest subscribing to her channel there and you can at least access them all that way.

  4. Dear Adriene,

I am really wanting to participate in this month's challenge. I have purchased the videos to download, however, over my internet connection, it is taking more than 13 hours to download one video. With the Vimeo videos, it appears you cannot pause and let them to buffer, like Youtube, so they constantly stop and start as things get downloaded. This makes it almost impossible to use.

Youtube does work for me. I agree with the other poster that providing these videos on Youtube would make it so much easier, otherwise I am stuck.

    Thank you!

    PS.
I am from Austin, born and raised. I currently live an 1 1/2 east of Austin. Nice to have a hometown teacher.

  5. Day two is done from a Greek soon to be mama (starting 9th month on friday), in Luxembourg. Following your videos since february and I haven t stopped just need to ajust with my big belly.
Thankfull for all that you are doing ! Happy New Year 2017 πŸ™‚

  6. Hi Adriene,

You just had me doing Day 2 in my PJ, first thing when I woke up. And I NEVER exercise in the morning (though I'm a morning person...). Thank you for the inspiration and always good energy!
    With much love,

    Anne

  7. Thank you so much Adriene for sharing this second morning with me and us all. What a lovely start for the day.
I accidentally, as they say, came across 30 days of yoga in the end of November. It was a huge revelation, having had a tearing autumn with the whole family being ill with flus in turns.
I am so grateful for having found you.
I did yoga daily, but often I just did something on my own because I couldn't make it to the video, so I still had one week left on the 30 days when I decided to hop on the Revolution train;) in "real time ". Whenever I have time, I will do the remaining days' practice, because I really love it too.
This feels different, and easier of course -so far. But I enjoy! And have learned so much from you , not the least about how out choice of words affects our way of being.
I am learning to love, and to treat everyone including myself gently.
Thank you. Greetings from Finland. Namaste.

  8. Help - day 2 video isn't downloading!! Yesterday's was fine but today nothing! I read the comments already posted and one person questioned the use of Vimeo instead of Youtube but don't know if that is the issue. Obviously disappointed and hope something can be done. x

  9. Well, I've officially reached my limit already, it appears - didn't even make it through half the video before I broke down because my muscles wouldn't cooperate anymore, at least half the poses seemed to assume double the muscle mass and triple the flexibility I have - and that's discarding the fact that I constantly had to twist out of the poses to look at the screen to even see what I was supposed to be doing.

Apparently awesome for someone who's got a better idea of what they're doing, and with a better basic fitness level, based on the other raving reviews, but this only-did-a-few-previous-videos-on-youtube-beginner is far overchalleneged,

    1. Hey Svenja, I would have been the same if I'd started with this series too, but 3 years in (NOT continually!) and it is awesome to see progress! The original 30 days of yoga series might be a better place to start? I began with doing that and the foundations of yoga series which really allows you to take your time and get to know the poses. Oh and don't think you have to do it in 30 days, especially the first few times! I've just done Yoga Camp (the 2nd series of 30 practices) from September - December.

Good luck in your yoga journey and DEFINTELY take it at your own pace!!

      With love XX

      1. Hi Joy, thanks for your encouraging response!

I got up a few minutes after I wrote my previous comment (and finished crying), and (after making some jokes along the lines of "Death by Yoga practice is gonna make a horrible obituary") decided "to hell with it" and continued and was able to finish the video, so perhaps I just need to factor in a possibility of a break in between, and maybe watch through the entire video before getting started on it, to see WHAT I am going to be doing before I start doing it (and scout out a good pausing point)

I think I'll stick with this for the time being, perhaps checking out the foundations of yoga series to get a better understanding of the poses - because I've tried doing the 30 day thing before, but apparently I just need the extra push of the daily e-mails and the knowledge others are working through this, too, at least at this point.

        1. Joy, I was the same when I started Yoga 2 years ago! I'm a breast cancer survivor, and started after chemo and mastectomy. I couldn't do little things like reach up to shut the hatch on my car. Stay with this, yoga has been everything to me. I love Adriene's videos. It's the breathing, stretching and taking time to be mindful that is the best. A little every day and you won't believe how much you will improve flexibility and strength. It's not about the pose, it's about doing what feels good. Do what you can and when it doesn't feel right, push back to child's pose! Stay with it, we're doing this together πŸ™‚ Happy New Year!

        2. Stick with it! Today had quite a but of core work that can be challenging if you're just starting out. You will get stronger! Adriene often mentions that if plank is too much, you can do a half plank--same push up position but with your knees on the ground. I don't recall her mentioning that in this video but that's an option. She also has a ton of more mellow practices on the You Tube channel.

        3. Svenja,
Don't give up! I started with YWA a year ago in December. I am so out of shape and need to lose over 50 lbs. While choosing what I eat is up to me, I can not imagine not doing yoga ever again (by the way I'm 54 years old and have pretty bad arthritis as well as really bad foot problems). It takes time and our own dedication to ourselves to keep going!
I actually saw your comment today as I was going to check out joining YWA instead of just viewing youtube videos.
Adrienne is fabulous at making sure we understand going at our own pace. After awhile you'll get used to following what she says without looking. Take your time and you'll learn how! I couldn't get through 10 minutes of a video when I started. Now? I still have problems with some of the movements (low lunge? Ugh! Lol) but I have seen marked improvement.
I hope you find a way to "find what feels good" for you! I know you can do it!

        4. I'm in exactly the same place as you Svenja, tears and all!!! I'm trying but oh my I simply can't do some of the things, at all :-(. Let's keep trying together xx

          1. Wow, so many responses!

@Mary Landes, thank you so much for sharing. I gotta admit, I still have to figure out how to make child's pose actually happen, but I'm working on it!

@Kate: It was actually mostly my legs that were shaking through several parts especially in the first half, I don't think I made it as far as engaging my core in most of these, but definitely sticking with it for now. I wanna cross off all 31 days!

@Tracie: Thank you! That is encouraging.

@Meg: Yeah, let's do it together!

            @Adriene Thank you!

        5. Dear Svenja, I've only just checked back in here and was so glad to read your response, and everyone else's too! Good on you for persevering, and for taking a break and doing it your way. I totally get the encouragement that goes along with doing it "live" rather than starting with one of the older series - great reasons for sticking with this one. I admire your attitude, and how lovely to read Adriene's response to you too. Go (at your own pace), girl!! Joy X

    2. Svenjia! Svenjia!

This is the good stuff girl. You have to start somewhere. And getting organized in mind and body is seriously the most challenging part. You are RIGHT on. Exactly where you are supposed to me. I'm so thrilled actually to read this exchange as this is the good stuff. I'm with you my friend. Let's keep going.

      Namaste
      Adriene

    3. The very first yoga class I ever went to, I broke into a tearful panic attack because everyone around me knew what they were doing and I didn't, and I couldn't do everything even if I did. My teacher came around and put me into child's pose, and continued leading the class like nothing happened. Afterward, he told me that if the only thing that I did for the entire hour was sit in a meditative pose, watch, and breathe, I would still be getting something out of my practice.

I've tried to carry that with me through the 3 or 4 years i've been doing regular yoga now. There's a LOT that I have to modify - I'm a big woman without a lot of arm strength - and some poses that even the easiest variations of are too difficult (or some days that things I could do on other days just don't happen). And it's really difficult to feel accomplished on a bad day. But if it helps you the way it helped me, just do as much as you can and sit out whatever you can't.

    4. Stick with it Svenjia! We all know you can. However video pauses you may need you are still acquiring flexibility and strength. We all start at the beginning. I introduced my mother to yoga and her reaction initially was overwhelmed but she worked through the fundamentals videos acquiring understanding and confidence along the way. ❀

  10. Hello Adrienne,

I want to try to understand the spiritual side of these 31 days and I am stumped by the phrase 'place of connect' both above and in our e-mail. If you, or another follower, have time, could you define what it means? I started doing your videos nearly a year ago for fitness, but I think that there is more that I could gain mentally and emotionally.

Thank you for all your work in producing these videos and the thought that goes into them.

  11. Dear Adriene,

Thank you for this beautiful gift of mindful yoga for the body and soul. I love the way your yoga practice really involves the whole of our body including our lungs ( breath), mind and soul. Today's intention practice really brought that home!! Thank you and happy new year!!!

    Caroline

  12. Another great video! Thank you so much! It got me out of bed this morning and that's good, cause I am not much of a morning person πŸ™‚ I have several friends who joined me on the course and I am grateful to be doing this together with them. Namaste to you!

  13. First thing I did when I woke up this morning! I am about to go away for 5 days and I'll be packing my yoga mat in my luggage (for the first time ever!) as I really don't want to miss out on this valuable daily yoga practice. Thank you so much Adriene!

  14. Lovely Adriene, this is so exciting! I love the sense of progression I'm getting from the original 30 Days and then Yoga Camp. The thought you've put into this is really evident. Namaste!!

  15. Overcome with tears at the thought of why I am here! Psalm 139 had me with streams of water from my eyes!!! Thank you so much!!! NAMASTE

  16. Thank you, enjoying it. Finding all the parts of my body I had forgotten existed! And will be trying hard to spread love and peace in my life. Much love.

  17. Dear Adrienne thank you for introducing me to yoga and getting me to love my mat and taking the positive yet calming energy into my every day life. Can't imagine starting my day without a yoga session with you. loving yoga revolution so far. Namaste and Happy New Year! xx

  18. Hello Adriene,

Its a small request - could you take a moment to explain the movement that you are going to make, before you actually do it, so that its easy for us to follow along with you...

As I'm focusing on my body alignment its hard to take my eyes off my body and look at the computer to see what you're doing, so I could not keep pace with you at all today.
    .

  19. Thank you for Day 2. Thank you for the reminder to focus on the movements. As you said about being jerked around each day, that is my life but I so love you reminding me that we need to take this time for us and not rush.

  20. Day 2 done! Thanks Adriene! BTWs I have 4 slip disc so I modify sometimes. Thanks for giving a safe place where people like me can find what works/feels good/is safe for us! See you tomorrow!!

  21. A big thank you from Norway πŸ™‚ Your way of teaching goes all the way into my mind, heart and body πŸ™‚ Bless you πŸ™‚ <3

  22. THank you so much Adrienne. AFter a period of relapsing and finding it hard to come to the mat, your revolutions series has worked the miracleHappy New Year to you and your loved ones. Battling my insecurities and finding balance And contentment are set intentions now.

  23. I' am just getting back on the mat after almost a month out due to work and other commitments and the two days so far have been bliss. Easing back into a practice which is developing not just the yoga postures but also opening the mind to new possibilities.

Great way to start the year as I prepare for a yoga retreat in October. My intention is to honour my body and make it to October in the best shape I can be spiritually and phtsically.

    Thank you.

    Namaste

  24. Good morning! I must admit that as a fifty years young overweight tense newbe to the yoga world, I find that I'm struggling to do many of these poses never mind fluidity. But I'm treating myself with kindness and forgiveness by adapting (for now) and I'm still enjoying my time with you and find the sessions calming so thank you!

  25. Loving it so far! I love the level of instruction and the cues as to how to adapt each sequence for challenge or flexibility level. I've done lots of yoga through the years and I love your approach. Thanks Adriene!

  26. Hi Adriene,

I absolutely love yoga and am so enjoying Yoga Revolution!

One quick request, would you be able to let us know how long each of the daily practices are so we can plan it out in our schedules? I think I will be more likely to stick to my daily practice if I can plan for how long it will be!

I know others have mentioned the desire for this as well.

    Lots of love. Namaste!

  27. Thank you, Adriene! This was a really wonderful flow for me and I'll be saving it to do again in the future. It seems to be a tall order for me to find a workout that doesn't hurt my problematic hips in some way, but with this one (unlike yesterday's flow, unfortunately) I was able to catch the pain just as it started and avoid doing that one movement, and now i have no pain.

  28. Thank you Adriene for making these videos, what a beautiful and restorative practice it was today.

  29. Just finished today's workout and loved it πŸ™‚ I am 52-years-old and just discovered yoga a year ago. I do it every day now and it has changed my life. Thank you Adriene, I am so thankful I found your videos, your teaching style is a perfect fit for me and I love your attitude and your humor. Looking forward to the rest of this Revolution series!

  30. Dear Adrienne,
You have changed my posture! I picked you up last year and have loved the results.

I am so excited to take part in this next series. However,
I just discovered I am 15 weeks pregnant!!

I am following your guidance to listen to my body, I just wonder if there are certain poses I need to avoid. Would love any thoughts from other pregnant yogis.
    <3 much love and gratitude.

    1. I can't leave any advice re: pregnancy but I have a belly that rivals it ^_^ In my case, blocks are my best friends. I find that when I'm bent over, or doing things like low lunges, my belly needs a little more space carved out than my hands alone can give me. Putting my hands up on blocks leaves extra room where I need it so I'm not crushing anything.

    2. Chandra, I have done Adriene's yoga during two pregnancies. Just take it easy, listen to your body. Muscle burn is good but you want to avoid any position that pinches or pulls or makes you feel light headed or uncomfortable. Adriene also has a pregnancy project with a sample video you can check out. πŸ™‚

  31. Hey πŸ™‚ I found your YouTube channel this year, and I worked through 30 days of yoga and yoga camp, but I've never really been a part of this. This is the first time I'm following your uploads every day, and I'm very excited about that! πŸ™‚ Wonderful work, and fantastic workouts! Thank you for that!

  32. Hi Adriene! Have always loved your videos and very excited for this month. I'm recovering from a wrist injury (fractured it in August) and am just easing back into yoga. I can do tabletop but struggle with plank and down dog. Do you have any easy modifications for those of us with weak wrists?

  33. Thank you Adriene! I’m looking forward to this challenge and the benefits it will bring πŸ™‚

I am currently pregnant and was wondering if it’s okay that I participate in this challenge? Are there any poses or moves I should avoid? Any modifications I should make? Thanks in advance!

  34. I'm loving this so far. Adriene, where did you get your pants? Not like I want to be your twin or anything.... πŸ˜‰

  35. I cannot begin to even explain how happy and grateful I am that I found your channel. Thank you for all you do! Day 2 and I love this practice, especially "catch yourself" when we left boat. I feel so peaceful and calm after practice with you.

  36. Another great workout!! Your videos are an inspiration to all of us in so many ways. Thank you for continuing your videos and positive thoughts.

  37. Thank you Adriene for all of your time and energy expended in creating these programs. The 31 days of yoga in 2015 led to almost 18 months of a home practice. I had to give it up due to time constraints, but I am back and ready to figure out my time again. I have missed the yoga and missed your instructions. This is time for me that I am giving back to you to validate your instructions. I know you don't need my validation, but like good thoughts, and good energy, I am sending it to you anyway.

    Namaste

  38. I am *loving* this practice. My word for the new year was "health" and so that's what I set my intention for during this practice. I had an awesome moment during the happy baby pose - I completely lost balance and tipped over to the side, but since I was in such a good place after having done most of the practice, I just started laughing and smiling and feeling full of love. This was HUGE for me because I'm typically a perfectionist and that kind of "mistake" would have made me feel bad previously. So thank you, for providing holistic health and not just physical health <3

  39. Day 2 done, would just like to say that for someone who has never done much yoga before....I am inspired and thankful.

  40. Thank you for making these videos ! I'm so excited about them . I just wish them to be uploaded a little more early so then I could do my morning yoga ritual everyday before school .

  41. Thanks Adrienne for everything you have put into this experience. It is incredibly inspiring to read all these comments left by people whose lives have changed for the better because of the work you do. Needless to say, my life has been dramatically improved because of the work you do as well! I'm coming up to a year of practise with you and it's so exciting to be doing this series with your community in real(ish) time. Namaste xoxo

  42. I've shared all yoga months (camps) and a lot of other videos with you dear Adriene, you make it easy for me to hop on and off the mat whenever I want or need to. Thank you for being you. _/\_

However I do have a wish: I got up early this morning to do day 3 of yoga first, expecting it to be already in my mailbox like yesterday, but nothing yet :-(. Is it possible to send the daily mail & link every day at the same time so people know when to expect it? I was really looking forward actually joining in on the right day for once, even there's a time difference. Receiving the mail at 5am yesterday made me happy and hopeful , but today (day 3) it is not there yet and a self-typed website link to day 3 also doesn't work :-(.
I completely understand that you cannot relate to all time zones and wishes, but maybe you can and want to send it out at the SAME time every day...? Expectation management... ;-).
Anyway, thanks again for doing this with us and sharing everything you know.

  43. Hello Adriene from far away Athens Greece!!
I think that I am the newest follower but after day 1 & 2 last evening I believe that I will be one of the most dedicated!!!
I am thrilled with your ability to calm me and on the same time to be more in charge of my body!
I had a few yoga classes before but last night was the first time that I was so destressed and so in peace in body and mind after the class!!!
Huge thanks, keep up this beautiful journey !!!

  44. Thank you for creating this much needed space to start strong in the new year! I have loved the first two days and can't wait for more.

  45. Thank you so much for this practice. I have completed 30 Days Of Yoga a couple of times but this is the first time that I have been able to join in in 'real time.' Thank you for helping me to start my New Year in such a positive way!

  46. This is absolutely perfect for me right now. Thank you so much, you're the best.

  47. Hello! Loving the videos so far. This is random, but I love the pants your wearing in this video, can you tell me who makes them!?

  48. This was perfect. I did this today somewhat reluctantly as I thought you'd take us right into a yoga workout, so this was just gentle, mindful and perfect enough and I really enjoyed it and felt relaxed and just.... peaceful at the end. Thank you xx

  49. Dear Adriene, thank you so much for your videos. Sometimes in the past I tried to make yoga, but I didn't like it. But just a couple of days ago I have tried again, this time with your video for beginners. I love it! So now I am going to do that lesson for a month or so, and then I wish I begin the Revolution program. I feel ready!
Thank you and a big hug from Italy.

  50. Hi Adriene!

Thank you so much for this series, and in particular, todays e-mail!
It's funny how we receive the right message at the right time. Thank you for helping me remember and practice moving with intention.

  51. Hi!
Just a quick question. Can I still do some light weight training while I am doing the Revolution? Or should I just focus on the Revolution?

  52. Thank you, Adriene. I love your YouTube channel, and your work. I always feel better physically and mentally after doing one of your videos with you! I liked that you mentioned we should have an intention for our practice for the 31 days. I chose strength and calmness, and that is how I feel after this video! πŸ™‚

  53. Just wanted to say thank you. I discovered your videos over a year ago and tried the 30 day challenge last year. I have a hard time finding the time each day but that is a process of making myself and this practice a priority. Through last year I worked on not being so critical of myself when I fell short of my goals. The way you guide through yoga also helps with that. You always give suggestions for multiple variations and always encourage self-exploration. Thank you for that encouragement.

This year I started almost a week late, but I am starting. Yay! Today I did day 2. I will not be quite on track but I know that is okay and just want to share that forward. To anyone else who might be struggling or feeling disappointment in themselves for missing a day or starting late, let it go. Just be happy you are here when you are here and return when you can. I am happy we that this exists and that there are so many people supporting it. Yay!

Thank you Adriene and all of the Yoga with Adriene fans for making this happen.

    Tina

  54. Good Sunday to everyone,
Did my Day 2 and must admit it was hard...however I do feel great after the session and my right lower back pain has diminished tremendously. I do feel the stretches as I have never been known to be very flexible. Yoga is not as easy as it looks and it will definitely be a nice workout. I will put my mind into keeping it up. Thanks Adrienne for showing up on my life path.

  55. I didn't read all the comments so perhaps someone said this already, but in past yoga camps we got the email at 2am no matter what time we initially signed up for the challenge. This time around however, I'm getting it at 10pm bc that's when I signed up, and that's too late to be helpful to me because I'm just about heading to bed. Is there a way to change that setting?

  56. Hi Adrienne,

thank you very much. Lessons are very inspirative and they REALLY make me happy. Practicing yoga is helpful and I feel a way better.

Big hug and lots of love.

  57. Hey, I just started day one today (January 16th) because I only found out about this yesterday. I'm wondering if your videos will still be posted on YouTube after January 31st so I can continue to do them ?

  58. Dear Adriene, thank you so very much for your wonderful yoga videos. I have finally found the teacher I need. I believe that I was guided to you because I found you at a very crucial time in my life. Your videos have helped me immensely and I've only been practising a few days. I'd just about come to the end, I'd given up on this cruel world and especially, on humanity. Suffice to say, I'm ashamed to be a member of the human race. I'm a huge animal lover, I always had an affinity with animals. I won't elaborate on my work with abused animals, BUT the pure and utter despair I feel at the never-ending evil and cruelty they endure at the hands of homo sapiens almost wiped me out! I have long-term mental health problems now. I lost my veterinary nursing trainee job after a violent attack. So, I stayed home and rescued and rehabilitated abused and disabled animals until my money ran out but ....... the sheer horror and cruelty almost finished me. I became anxious and depressed and very hateful at times. I'd given up on life and people. I was dying inside. Then I found your YouTube channel. For this, I am eternally in your debt. I am so grateful to you. I am already reaping the benefits. You are a bright light in a very dark world. Namaste sister x

  59. Hi,
I'm late getting started but doing day 9 tomorrow ~ is there anyway to get emails #3-9 sent so I'll be on track? I'm doing you tube they tv.
Thank you ~ loving it so far!
    Susan

  60. Hey Adriene! Day Two, Intention completed! thank you for making these wonderful, relaxing videos to benefit my soul and body from.

    1. Hey Sarah!

I have also just finished my 2nd day of this 31 day Revolution too. It is good to know I am not the only one who has joined so late.

So far I am loving it. Even with the simplest of stretches I feel my body quietly acking and sighing, and clearly telling me it is longing for more. I hear it loud and clearly. I have wanted to get involved with yoga for years now. Have the mat, the pants, the books etc but never actually got going. Could not find the time, an inspiring teacher who speaks English locally etc etc and thought doing it at home as a near complete beginner would not work. Then someone mentioned Adriene's videos a few days ago and I found this. Adriene's approach is so welcoming, nurturing, calming, joyful, inspiring and real. I cannot wait to do more though knowing myself I am sure I will struggle to prioritise my health on some day.

Good luck with your revolution Sarah and any other late comers!!

      Warm vibes from Switzerland

      Karen

  61. I have just started working with yoga through your youtube channel I did the first day today and I am very excited. I come from a background of aerobic training, having been an aerobic instructed about 30 years ago. I really enjoyed the first day practice and look forward to making this a way of life every after the 30 days. I did stay a while longer and incorporated some stretches that I know and I felt get after completing all of this. I do have back and neck issues (sedentary job for way too long) and I am looking forward to strengthening and stretching all of this out.

  62. Hello,

This is my second try at this. First time I got gastro and was out for a week or more. So I thought I would start at the beginning again.

My question is every time I do downward dog (or similar pose) blood rushes to my head and I feel aches behind the eyes, headachy and nauseous. First time I thought it was because I was getting ill. However it is happening again.

I have never been able to go any rides, or anything the tips me upside down, as I vomit.

Any hints? Will I over come this? Or is there an alternative way to do certain poses so the blood does not rush to my head?

  63. Hi all,
I'm late to the party, having just found you on YouTube. So far, I love it! Thank you so much for sharing and creating this program.
I received the first email, but not today. It's there a way I can be sure to continue getting them?
    Thanks in advance. Terri

  64. Looking for quick advice! - I am new to yoga, about a week of Adriene videos and just started the Revolution challenge - REALLY loving it! I am a 30yr old female with an autoimmune inflammatory disease and the videos have already made a big difference for me and I want to keep it up! Where I need some help - I am having trouble with the poses that involve weight on my palm when it is directly below shoulder and also flattening the top of my foot to mat. I have been powering through but my knees and wrists feel frozen in these positions when I try to come out of them and are painful. Wondering if anyone has tips for alleviating pressure on knees and wrists? Or any other advice, thank you πŸ™‚ !

  65. Thank you Adriene! I've never wanted to do any sort of exercise, or practice, but you make it so manageable, fun and easy. You make each step so understandable and I love your warm and welcoming personality. I really can't thank you enough.

  66. Hello,

I just started Yoga Revolution, after having done 30 Days of Yoga with Adriene. I'm really getting a lot out of the program, but I have a question: does anyone know how to stop the next video in this series from automatically playing? I didn't have that problem with 30 Days: once one was finished, it didn't jump to the next one, but here with Yoga Revolution, it's jumping automatically (which is jarring when I'm in shivasana, trying to chill...;-) )

I checked my YouTube settings, and autoplay is switched off. Thanks, Lisa

  67. Hi Adriene

I found your site when searching for best yoga practices. After looking around I decided to jump on board with your Yoga Revolution......I just finished Day 2 and as I know I have a ways to go, I'm already happy I decided to take the plunge. I love your videos and your emails.....it really is inspiring. I'm curious though.....I received Day 1 and Day 2 emails around the same time on Saturday and Sunday.... but I haven't received the Day 3 email......I know I can just go to the YouTube channel for the next video....but I like reading your emails. Any chance it's possible to check I'm registered correctly? Thank you so much.
    Christi

  68. Just finished Day 2 with Intention. I've been thinking of how reactive my life has been and I think reaction has taken over!! Intentional practice, intentional method...food for thought. Looking forward to tomorrow!! Thanks for the love Adrienne.
