  1. When I was on vacation this past summer, I treated myself to a week's worth of actual yoga classes.

One day, one of the instructors actually pointed me out to the rest of the class by saying "this woman actually has a home yoga practice that she does using the INTERNET!"

I just smiled at the class participants as they had no questions for me. They were simply in awe that what I had found (you, Adriene!!) had motivated me to start my own practice and kept me going on a daily basis. The other participants giggled a bit and told me they couldn't make themselves "stick with it" unless they paid their teacher--which kept them coming back each week.

It made me a bit sad for them that they were missing out on so much of what yoga does for me on and OFF the mat. You have changed the way I look at life and the way I take care of myself. I feel connected to the whole universe in some very small way, yet feel that connection very strongly.

Thank you Adriene, for teaching "this older dog (at 47)" a new perspective on life and what my future can holD through my connection to yoga. You rock!!!!!

  2. Wanted to take a moment and make you aware of the impact you have had on my health and well-being. I am a 50 year old business owner, mother of 3, grandmother of 1, and wife of 28 yrs, tall and slender, with a good metabolism. Enter menopause. Gained 20 lbs last summer, right around my middle, and have fought relentlessly, with no results, for a year. September 2015 marks my first encounter with Yoga With Adriene. In 4 months, I have fallen in love with your "flavor" and presentation of yoga. I generally manage to get on my mat 6 days a week and have dropped all other workouts except for walking 2-3 miles about 3 times a week. Have lost 15 lbs and 4 1/2" from my waist. Feel better than i have in years. Rheumatoid arthritis is benefiting as well. So...thanks....for all you bring to people who will never even meet you. You made me feel like I can. So I did. And I will keep exploring this path and growing my practice from now on.

  3. Wish I would have known you were visiting. I wish my local yoga studio was large enough to host you (Spa Eir in Kirkland). Next time you come, go check out Orcas Island. I love to book a deluxe cabin in Deer Harbor.
